Healthier Homemade Crunchwrap Supreme.
The Healthier Homemade Crunchwrap Supreme…taking everyone’s favorite fast food and making it healthier…and at home too. Plus all the fixings. Because loaded crunchwraps are just better. Ground meat (chicken or beef) seasoned with a homemade taco seasoning mix, layered up with cheese, peppers, crispy baked tostadas, and more! Cook these up in the skillet until they’re crispy on the outside, but warm and cheesy inside. Serve each Crunchwrap with a mix of your favorite taco toppings. They come together in minutes and are so delicious…the perfect weeknight dinner. And honestly? A whole lot better than the fast-food version.
I would never have thought I would be typing these words, but today’s recipe is inspired by Taco Bell! Well, Taco Bell and every other brother and cousin in my life. My family has been begging me to recreate the Crunchwrap for well over a year. And after some serious convincing over Christmas, I caved in.
I know, I know. Everyone loves the Crunchwrap. it’s such a thing, but honestly? I’ve never had one. I was that very, very strange child that really didn’t care for fast food…other than Dairy Queen that is, which I of course loved. I was a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup or Cookie Dough Blizzard kind of girl. How about you? I’ve been told that I really missed out on the cookies n’ Cream Blizzard…
Anyway, I wasn’t much into fast food, but thankfully I have brothers and cousins. A few of whom, have really expressed the need for me to create this recipe. So here we are. And you know something? I’ve got to say, this homemade version is pretty darn good. I guess I can’t say it tastes just like the Taco Bell original, but it passed the test of every last family member, and they always tell it like it is.
The final word? Better than the original.
All the details on making a healthier crunchwrap…
I had to do a bit of research on these, but after making well over three dozen Crunchwraps, I kind of developed my own method.
First though, the recipe. I wanted these to be similar to a Crunch, but with more flavor, more color, and less grease. I also wanted a bit more crunch in the center.
For the taco meat, I used my chipotle chicken taco seasoning mix because it’s always everyone’s favorite. You can make these using ground beef or chicken, I’ve done it both ways now and both are equally delicious.
Once the meat is made, the rest is really just assembling.
The “Doritos” Seasoned Tostada
Well, actually, you need to make the tostadas! They are the crunchy, cheesy middle layer, and trust me, you need them. I oven-baked mine to keep them a bit healthier, then seasoned them up two ways. First with plenty of lime zest and flaky sea salt.
And second, with a simple “Doritos” seasoning blend, which is a simple as mixing garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cumin, and chili powder with salt. It. Is. DELICIOUS when sprinkled on the warm tostada. And only just a little bit addicting…
The layers are as follows…
Large Burrito Size Tortillas…I love to use Siete Foods Grain Free Burrito Size Tortillas, which I usually just order online or pick up at Whole Foods. Not only are these healthier, but I actually prefer the taste and texture over a regular flour tortilla.
Taco Meat…but homemade, of course.
Nacho Cheese Sauce…instead of a heavy cheese sauce, I use a mix of Mexican cheeses and poblano peppers. So. Delicious.
Extra Crunchy Tostadas…but oven-baked and very well seasoned.
Sour Cream…I swapped in Greek yogurt, but if you love sour cream, go for the sour cream!
Lettuce and Tomatoes…go heavy on these. They add crunch and keep things a little more balanced.
Small Taco Size Tortillas…again, I love to use these smaller Grain Free Tortillas. But whole wheat tortillas are another great option!
Now we can assemble
Here is what I will say, these take a second to assemble because of the multiple l layers, tacking, and then some folding at the end. BUT trust me, the extra effort is going to be worth it in the end.
I took as many photos of the stacking and wrapping as I could to help give you some visuals, but basically, you’re just layering everything up, then enclosing it all in one giant tortilla. Your first Crunchwrap will be the trickiest to assemble, but by the second, you’ll have it all figured out. And really, it’s pretty easy!
You can add in any additional sauces or more cheese, or keep it classic. I want heavy on the cilantro and lettuce and the cheese and peppers too!
Cook the Crucnhwraps in a skillet with a bit of olive oil, then serve them up with your favorite toppings. I ad avocado mashed up with lime and sea salt, plus hot sauce. My brothers do extra sour cream, hot sauce, and a little dip in some salsa too.
The Key? Serving these hot off the skillet so the tortillas are crispy and the cheese inside is warm and melty.
SO. GOOD. Better than the original because you can taste the flavor and not just lots of grease!
If you’re looking for a fun family dinner, try these! Not only are they delicious, but you can make a night out of it and get everyone in the kitchen to help assemble the CrunshWraps. They’ll be able to customize them to their liking too!
And for the adults, maybe add a nice margarita tas well. My current favorite is the very wintery frosted mistletoe margarita, but this spicy cucumber margarita is another great option! So you see? The perfect January Wednesday night at home. Homemade Crunchwraps and a margarita in hand. Hard to beat that.

Healthier Homemade Crunchwrap Supreme
Taking everyone's favorite fast food and making it healthier...and at home too...plus all the fixings!
Ingredients
Taco Meat
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 pound ground chicken, beef, or turkey
- 1 yellow onion, chopped
- 2-3 teaspoons chipotle chili powder use to your taste
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4-1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper use to your taste
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
For Assembling
- 6 corn tortillas
- extra virgin olive oil, for drizzling
- 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup cubed Monterey Jack cheese
- 1 poblano or jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped
- 6 large (burrito size) whole wheat or gluten-free tortillas
- 6 mini taco size whole wheat or gluten free tortillas
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 2 cups shredded romaine lettuce
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, chopped
- fresh cilantro, limes, avocado, and hot sauce, for serving
Instructions
-
1. Preheat the oven to 400° F.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over high heat. When the oil shimmers, add the ground meat and onion. Cook, breaking up the meat as it cooks, until the chicken is browned, about 5 minutes. Add the chili powder, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, oregano, and salt. Add 3/4 cup water. Reduce the heat to medium and simmer until the sauce has thickened slightly around the chicken, about 10 minutes. Remove from the heat.
3. Meanwhile, make the tostadas. Line the corn tortillas up on a sheet pan and rub lightly with olive oil. Transfer to the oven and bake 6 minutes. Flip, and bake another 4-5 minutes, until crisped. While warm, sprinkle with sea salt and lime zest or the "Doritos" seasoning blend (recipe in notes) for extra flavor.
4. To assemble, warm a large tortilla for 20 seconds in the microwave, then brush with water to dampen. Lay flat on a surface. In the center, layer the meat, a sprinkle of cheddar, a few cubes of Monterey Jack, and a sprinkle of peppers. Add 1 tostada on top, spread with yogurt, hot sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, and cilantro. Place 1 small tortilla on top, brush with water, then fold the edges of the large tortilla in, pressing to seal (see above photos). Repeat with the remaining wraps.
5. Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a skillet, add 1 crunchwrap and cook 2-3 minutes per side until crisp and golden brown. Serve warm with any amount of desired toppings, avocado, hot sauce, yogurt, cilantro, salsa, whatever you love!
Recipe Notes
Doritos Seasoning: In a small bowl, mix 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon cumin, 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika, 1/2 teaspoon chili powder, and 1 teaspoon kosher salt. Add cayenne pepper for even more kick. Sprinkle over the warm tostadas.
Tortillas: I love to use Siete Foods Grain Free Burrito Size Tortillas and their smaller Grain Free Tortillas. You can get these at Whole Foods or order online. I also love the Whole Foods Brand whole wheat tortillas.

This looks like so much fun! Tieghan, your recipes are great for vegetarians because I plan on replacing the meat with beans and following all directions. Thank you, my teens will be thrilled.
Hey Lori,
Thanks so much for trying the recipe, I am so thrilled that it was enjoyed! xTieghan
Whoops, forgot to ask if you will be making on Instagram Live?
Might have to:)
Soo good! My husband and I have been making these for years, but it’s nice to finally have a go-to recipe!
Hey Loren,
Thanks so much for trying the recipe, I am so thrilled that it was enjoyed! xTieghan
Crunchwraps are my Favorite! Thank you for all the tips and recipe. Definitely will be making these at home now.
Hey Carol,
I hope you love the recipe, thanks for reading along! xTieghan
At the very least give The Defined Dish’s Alex Snodgrass credit when it’s owed –> https://thedefineddish.com/crunchwrap-supreme-grain-free-gluten-free-dairy-free/
Hey Annie! Alex’s recipe looks amazing and I am sure it’s delicious! If you google homemade crunchwrap, there are MANY recipes with everyone’s own personal spin to the wrap. This is my version based on what my family and I enjoy most and what my cousins/siblings requested within their wraps. If you take at look at my recipe, it’s actually pretty different from most online. I spent some time putting it together and really testing out this recipe. Hoping that makes sense to you. Thanks for reading. Have a nice rest of your week! xx
recipe says it serves 6 people, however the recipe only calls for 4 tortillas of each kind. . . should it not call for 6?
Hey Diane,
Thanks so much for pointing this out, the recipe has been fixed. I hope this clears things up! xTieghan
this is my dream!! half baked harvest + crunchwrap supreme! could it get any better?! so excited to make this ASAP.
Hey Megan,
LOL I hope you love the recipe!! xTieghan
I love crunch wrap supremes. They are my yearly splurge since I live over 4 hours away from a Taco Bell, so whenever I see one I have to get one. If I could make one at home that would be even better. I will have to give this a try.
Hey Sarah,
I hope you love the recipe, thanks so much for following along! xTieghan
Yes! You rock for creating this one 👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks so much:) xTieghan
It’s super annoying to me when your recipe “serving sizes” do not remotely match up with the quantity of food made. If you’re making 4 crunchwraps, why would it not be 4 servings or 8 servings? Where the heck are you getting 6?!?
Hey Rose,
So sorry the recipe has been adjusted for 6 servings. I hope this helps! Have a wonderful week!! xTieghan
yummmmmmm!!!! making these tonight but substituting meat for beans because that’s all i have!
Hey Cari,
I hope you love the recipe, let me know how it turns out! xTieghan
THIS IS SO FUN. My husband is going to flip out!!!! I love the idea of “better than drive-thru” kind of like your better than takeout series!! Hope to see more for sure. Maybe a healthier Chickfila sandwich next??? Chipotle bowl? Halal cart chicken? This is awesome. Yay.
Hey Paulie,
LOL I love your enthusiasm!! I hope you and your husband love the recipe! xTieghan

Tieghan,
Like all of your recipes, this looks phenomenal. I am very disheartened by the comments in regard to you not giving credit to others when it’s due (what?) and followers being so “annoyed” over serving sizes… sad to already see so much negativity of 2020 bleed into the new year. I respect you immensely for ALWAYS remaining above it! This year, my boyfriend and I are going to try and post pictures of your recipes more because we know it’s your favorite! We make them several times a week and have shared HBH with so many friends and family- we have actually gifted your cookbooks on 5 different occasions! Thank you for being so genuine and always providing us with the most beautiful and delicious recipes!!
Hey Emily,
Thank you so much for your super kind message and following along:) I hope you love this recipe and thank you for your support with gifting the cookbooks! Happy New Year! xTieghan
Yessss!!!! I will make a vegetarian version. Swap meat with black beans l! Yum 😋 Love this!!
Hey there,
I hope you love the recipe, let me know how it turns out! xTieghan
This recipe looks almost exactly like the one Alex Snodgrass created for her blog, Defined Dish.
Hey Carla,
Like I shared with Annie, Alex’s recipe looks amazing and I am sure it’s delicious! If you google homemade crunchwrap, there are MANY recipes with everyone’s own personal spin to the wrap. I seriously cannot wait to try some of your recipes!! So so yummy!!!
Thank you so very much Brenda! xTieghan
This looks delicious!!! Would they work in the air fryer?
Hey Kim,
I have not tested these in the air fryer, so I am unsure of the results. I hope you love the recipe. Please let me know if you have any other questions! xTieghan
Is there a specific brand of gluten free burrito wraps you recommend?!
Hey Ann,
I really like the Siete brand! I hope you love the recipe, please let me know if you have any other questions! xTieghan
Hi!! I am so excited to make these— did you try air frying them in any of your attempts in coming up with the recipe?
Hey Deepa,
Sorry I never tested that, but you can certainly give it a try! I hope you love the recipe, please let me know if you have any other questions! xTieghan
Oh my goodness Annie, did you read the recipe? It’s no where near the recipe posted by Alex Snodgrass. Tieghan was very gracious in her reply.
I hope you love the recipe Sue!! xTieghan
I swear you are a mind reader!! I feel like I’ll be craving something one day and then you’ll have a post with the most perfect recipe!! Keep up the great work :). Can’t wait to give these a try. You are my go to! I always say “Tieghan knows best” when I’m cooking 🙂
Hey Lucy,
Thank you so much for your very kind message and following along! I hope you love the recipe! xTieghan
If you made a video that would be awesome. Looks very good but instructions a little bit confusing
Hey James,
Yes, I have a video on IG. I hope you love the recipe! xTieghan
Any thoughts on if this would work in an air fryer?!
Hey Leah,
So sorry I’ve not tested this in an air fryer, but you could certainly give it a try! Let me know how it turns out:) xTieghan
We literally dove into these when they were done!! They did not seem healthy.. which is a good thing!! Used the carb balance burrito, for a bit more of that classic flavor. My daughter and I had so much fun assembly lining them! My family was wishing I made 20 of them! I’ll double it next time. Killer.
Hey Lisa,
I am so thrilled that you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for making it! Happy Friday! xTieghan
This looks delicious, I’m planning to make it this evening. One note I wanted to mention: when I use the title “Homemade Crunchwrap Supreme” to search using the terminology on Instagram, I got back a recipe for cinnamon crunch. When I went to your site, I saw the full title is “Healthier Homemade Crunchwrap Supreme.” When I used the full title, I got the recipe I was looking for. If there’s anyway you can loosen your search logic to get recipes without the exact name, that would be helpful! I’ll let you know know it goes tonight — can’t wait!
Hey Carol,
So sorry about that! I hope you love the recipe, please let me know if I can help in any other way! xTieghan
Omg can you please do a cheesy gordita crunch next?? It’s both a soft taco and hard taco held together by a layer of melted cheese, with all the regular taco fixings inside and some classic “baja” sauce which is like Mexican ranch! Omg I bet you’d IMPROVE IT!
Hey Mary,
Thanks so much for the inspo, might have to had this to my list!! xTieghan
This recipe is awesome!
Time-saving modification: just use a taco seasoning packet. Not as good as fresh spices, but I was making this for a weeknight dinner and needed simplicity. Delicious!
Hey Nick,
I am so thrilled that you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for making it! Happy Friday! xTieghan
Incredible! So delicious! Will be making again. 10/10. Made with mushrooms instead of meat and turned out amazing. I look forward to your posts everyday! ✨
Hey Vienna,
I am so thrilled that you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for making it! Happy Friday! xTieghan
I ended up having to use a panini press to hold the sandwich together. Whole wheat tortillas are stiffer and harder to work with- I would recommend the regular white flour version and save yourself some aggravation. Tasty and the crunch in the centre was a winner in our house.
Hey there,
Thanks so much for giving the recipe a try! xTieghan
Amazing!! I’ve never had these at Taco Bell- I’ve only been there once in 30 years! But these are SO good! With our family of 6 we had leftovers which were also really good the next day for lunch. However, they are best just after making. We loved these and I will be making them again and again. They would also be good for party food!
Hey Missy,
I am so thrilled that you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for making it! Happy Friday! xTieghan
The flavors on these were delicious. However, I used the siete tortillas recommended and they do not work for this recipe at all. I couldn’t even get the wraps in the pan without them ripping and falling apart. It turned into a big mess on our plates and we had to throw away the top tortilla because we couldn’t flip them back over once they fell apart.
Hey Madeline,
So sorry you had issues with the tortillas. I found they worked really well, you can check out my video on IG for extra help. I hope this helps! xTieghan
Love your recipes 😍.
Thanks so much!! xTieghan
Good Morning Tieghan! I’ve been following you for a few months and basically am obsessed with your recipes! Your pretty much all that pops up on my Pinterest at this point. Lol! I’ve been diy-ing crunchwraps for years but am definitely making them your way w/ the seasoned corn tortilla. Today!! I make the breakfast ones too and they are delish. Surprise your fam with those! Thanks for constantly inspiring!!:]
Hey Kristi,
Thank you so much for your super kind message and following along! I hope you love my version of the Crunchwraps! xTieghan
So excited to try this! Could you use a panini press rather than putting it in the skillet?
Hey Ashley,
Thanks so much, sure I think a panini press would work well here! I hope you love the recipe, please let me know if you have any other questions! xTieghan
I made these for my roommate and boyfriend last night. They absolutely loved it!!!!
Hey Lindsay,
Thank you so much for giving the recipe a try, I am so glad it was enjoyed! xTieghan
Can you freeze these? If so, how do you recommend heating them back up especially so they aren’t cold in the middle?
Hey Jana,
If you want to freeze, I would recommend doing do before you fry them in the skillet. I would reheat in the skillet or bake in an oven. I hope you love the recipe, please let me know if you have any other questions! xTieghan
Excited to make this recipe! I have family members who love Taco Bell’s crunch wrap. In fact, I have made about 6 different recipes from you and all of them have been a hit. For Christmas I gave your most recent cookbook to my daughter and two daughter in laws because your twist on recipes are excellent. Thank you for wonderful blogs, videos and recipe books.
Hey Annette,
Thank you so much for your super kind message! I hope you love this recipe:) Have an awesome weekend! xTieghan
SO delicious! It will definitely be a regular in our house! Love that it’s customizable too
Hey Kim,
Thank you so much for giving the recipe a try, I am so glad you enjoyed! xTieghan
I’m in Scotland, and have never heard of these, but they look so good! x
Thanks so much Kelly-Jane! xTieghan
Made for dinner tonight! My Taco Bell crunch wrap loving teen approved! And we all loved as well. That seasoning mix will be my new go-to. YUM! Another HBH winner!
Hey Natalie,
Thanks for making the recipe, I am so glad it was enjoyed! xTieghan
Made these for dinner tonight and they were awesome! Hubs gave a 2 thumbs up. I have not had the original Taco Bell but I’m sure these were better!!!! Thank you for making quarantine fun. I have been trying a few recipes of yours a month since this pandemic started. My cooking skills have greatly improved!
Hey Kristin,
Thanks so much for making the recipe, I am so excited that it was enjoyed! Have a great weekend:) xTieghan
Omg! I cannot put into words how delicious this was! One bite and so reminiscent of childhood days yet so much better!! Totally obsessed

Amazing!! Made these tonight and they were even better than t-bell!
Hey MJ,
Thanks so much for making the recipe, I am so excited that it was enjoyed! Have a great weekend:) xTieghan
Do you think these would keep in the fridge for a night and reheat well?
Hey Lauren,
Yes, thats fine to do, you can reheat in the oven and they will be great! I hope you love the recipe! xTieghan
Oh wow these look amazing thinking of making them tomorrow – would left over roast chicken work?
Hey Mel,
Sure that would work well! I hope you love the recipe, please let me know if you have any other questions! xTieghan
Another amazing, delicious snd lived by whole family type of recipe by Tieghan. I didn’t think I’d be able to easily fold etc, but it was easy and your pictures demonstrated perfectly. You are so authentic and should absolutely be on the good network with your own show.
Hey Amy,
I am so glad the recipe was enjoyed, thanks so much for trying it out! Happy Sunday! xTieghan
Just made these and they are beyond delicious! I’m not big in the kitchen and even I could pull it off. Can’t wait to eat another one later. Thanks for sharing!!!
Hey Samantha,
I am so glad the recipe was enjoyed, thanks so much for trying it out! Happy Sunday! xTieghan
Loved this recipe and I was so excited to have a recipe that uses Siete tortillas since I have no choice but to use gluten free, corn free products. However, All my burrito sized tortillas tore. I followed the directions, watched the IG story video 3 times lol. Just didn’t work for us. We think next time that we will just do this as a burrito instead with crunchy tostada inside cause the wrap part was so tough for us. Your crunch wraps looks so pretty. Some day we will get there.
Hey Leslie,
I am so glad the recipe was enjoyed, thanks so much for trying it out! Sorry you had issues with the tortillas. Happy Sunday! xTieghan
It’s hard to find a crowd pleaser for all three of my teenagers but they ALL (including my husband) loved this – so grateful for this recipe, thank you!!! All of your recipes are hits in our house 💗
Hey Catherine,
I am so glad the recipe was enjoyed, thanks so much for trying it out! Happy Sunday! xTieghan
Made this for my family this evening! It was a such a hit! You never disappoint Tieghan 🙂
We have both your books and we follow your blog! You need to have your own show on the food network!
Hey Nikki,
I am so glad the recipe was enjoyed, thanks so much for trying it out! Happy Sunday! xTieghan
My husband and I made these tonight and they are SO good!! Definitely adding these to our meal rotation. The Instagram highlight showing step by step to go along with the instructions was also SO helpful!
Hey Paige,
I am so glad the recipe was enjoyed, thanks so much for trying it out! Happy Sunday! xTieghan
I made these for dinner tonight and they were so delicious! Thank you for the great recipe!
Hey Sheilyn,
I am so glad the recipe was enjoyed, thanks so much for trying it out! Happy Sunday! xTieghan
In the words of my husband – addictingly delicious! We skipped breakfast and lunch, so each ate two of these! The techniques that you share here and on IG def helped! Thank you for making our Saturday night dinner so fun!
Hey there,
I am so glad the recipe was enjoyed, thanks so much for trying it out! Happy Sunday! xTieghan
Huge hit with the whole family! It will certainly satisfy a fast food craving and you feel good after it assuming you can stop eating them! Thanks for sharing this recipe.
Hey Harvin,
I am so glad the recipe was enjoyed, thanks so much for trying it out! Happy Sunday! xTieghan
This was my first HBH recipe I’ve tried and it was nothing short of DELICIOUS. I’ve personally never had the Taco Bell version and after this, I don’t think I need to.
Hey Sara,
I am so glad the recipe was enjoyed, thanks so much for trying it out! Happy Sunday! xTieghan
These were bomb.com! My baby has MSPI so I’ve had to eliminate all dairy and soy from my diet…which also mean no Taco Bell. These were so good and I was able to easily modify the recipe to be dairy free. Love your recipes!
Hey Sydnie,
I am so glad the recipe was enjoyed, thanks so much for trying it out! Happy Sunday! xTieghan
Made these a couple of days ago and they are so good, my son and husband were so excited.. I will admit it was an bit of a fail when it came to sealing it before browning it in the last step, so I think my tortilla sizes where not quite right, I was using what I had on hand which I was amazed I had but with that being said, they were still delicious and I have already purchased better sizes for the “next ” time since they were a hit.. Thanks again! Just love your recipes..
Hey Gail,
I am so glad you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for giving it a try! xTieghan
Soo good. We used ground turkey and it was delicious.. we also added Doritos because why not, and it was on point.
Hey Naomi,
I am so glad you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for giving it a try! xTieghan
Holy cow!! These were fantastic. We will definitely be adding them to our Taco Tuesday menu on a regular occasion!
Hey Karen,
I am so glad you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for giving it a try! xTieghan
Could you let me know how you make your nacho cheese sauce? (so I get the mix correct) Do you just melt it on top of the stove in a saucepan? Thanks so much! Making these for dinner tonight!!
Hey Sue,
I actually didn’t use a nacho cheese sauce here, just melted cheese! I hope you love the recipe, please let me know if you have any other questions! xTieghan
These are so good!! They were also very easy to make. Will be making again for sure! The only thing I did different was I used a taco seasoning packet because I had it on hand.
Hey Liz,
I am so glad you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for giving it a try! xTieghan
I’m a huge fan of your blog and have made many many of your recipes. This one fell a bit short. The flavor was good, but these were a beast to assemble and mine kept falling apart. I tried both the Siete brand that was recommended as well as a Whole Foods flour tortilla. The flour tortillas held up slightly better, but no matter what I did, neither folded up nicely like the photo and crumbled apart when flipping in the pan. I liked the flavor, but next time will probably just stick with making it a taco bowl or just using tortillas for a regular filled taco (skip the whole Crunchwrap folding ordeal).
Hey Justinia,
So sorry you had issues with the tortillas, please let me know if I can help in anyway! xTieghan
I am going to try these tonight! I noticed you have 6 corn tortillas as well as 6 large and 6 mini tortillas.
Hey Lisa,
Yes, that is correct:) I hope you love the recipe! xTieghan
We loved the taste of these, and they were super fun to assemble as a family. My only thing is next time, I’d use flour tortillas, as the Siete ones cracked and ripped, even with heating them up prior. I would definitely make these again but with the other tortilla’s. We of course also made your mistletoe margaritas alongside, which are our favorite!!!!! Thanks for creating another great recipe,
Kim
Hey Kim,
I am so glad you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for giving it a try! Sorry you had issues with the tortillas. Have a great week:) xTieghan
So yummy! We added a little over a tablespoon of fat free retried beans also!
Hey Bethany,
I am so glad you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for giving it a try! Have a great week:) xTieghan
This was amazing!! I still had some trouble wrapping but to save less carbs I only used the big tortilla and trimmed down the tostada so it would fit
Hey Brittany,
I am so glad you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for giving it a try! Have a great week:) xTieghan
Tieghan, this was SO Good!!! Thank you for the new recipe! We tried it tonight and will definitely make it again soon!
Thanks and sending love,
Casey
Hey Casey,
I am so glad you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for giving it a try! Have a great week:) xTieghan

Hey Melissa,
Thanks so much for following along, I hope you love this recipe! xTieghan
I make these tonight, so fun and delicious. My youngest son was always a big fan of these at Taco Bell. He said, “these are even better than the real ones”
Hey Suzanne,
I am so glad you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for giving it a try! Have a great week:) xTieghan
For me, time consuming and not worth the effort. Normal tacos next time!
Hey Kate,
So sorry you did not enjoy the recipe, please let me know how I can help for next time! xTieghan
Tieghan,
These look amazing! I think we will substitute some beyond meat in place of beef so that this vegetarian can enjoy with the rest of the family. Thanks as always for sharing your recipes and inspiration with us. Every recipe is always a hit in our house. I gifted your cookbooks to several friends as I’ve been making your recipes for years and they are all cooking their way through and loving every single recipe. Happy 2021 to you and your family!
Hey Natalie,
Thanks so much, I really hope you love the recipe! xTieghan
This recipe was absolutely amazing!!! I never cook this type of food and have never had a crunchwrap in my life. My husband and I loved this! Plus we have leftovers! I will surely make this again. Every recipe I try of yours is beyond amazing. I tell all my friends about you. My daughter told me about you as she follows you and makes tons of your recipes. You are simply THE BEST!!!!
Hey Vicki,
I am so glad you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for giving it a try! Have a great week:) xTieghan
Made these last night and everyone loved them! One of my kids loves the Taco Bell version and I thought he would be a tough one to win over, but it wasn’t the case. He loved them! I did swap the iceberg lettuce for spinach and used flour tortillas which when assembling with the water, worked great. I used my pancake griddle so I could get more done faster, and put them in the oven @ 200 degrees until everything was done. We’ll make them again. I’m wondering — would they work on a grill this summer? I plan to try!
Hey Carol,
I am so thrilled that you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for making it! I haven’t tried them on the grill, but I think that would be a fun idea. Have a great week:) xTieghan
This sounds delicious, but I’m unclear how the tostadas figure in to the final product. Are they an accompaniment?
Hey Molly,
The tostadas are added in step 4. I hope you love the recipe, please let me know if you have any other questions! xTieghan
Look yum but complicated. Any chance of doing a video for this recipe?
Hey Simi,
I have a step by step video saved to highlights. I hope you love the recipe. Please let me know if I can help in any other way! xTieghan
I made this but used chicken breast (obviously changing the cooking directions to suit chicken breast) as that’s what I had on hand. Absolutely delicious!
Hey Kiara,
I am so thrilled that you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for making it! Have a great week:) xTieghan
Made these for dinner tonight! Amazing!! 🥰
Hey Jessica,
I am thrilled that you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for making it! xTieghan
These tasted so amazing and were really easy to make!
Hey Meghan,
I am thrilled that you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for making it! xTieghan
Just made these and they were soo delicious! My fiancé could not stop commenting how good these were and I completely agree – thank you Tieghan 🙂
Hey Nat,
I am thrilled that you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for making it! xTieghan
The hardest part was the assembly, but it was well worth it. With all of the ingredients that go in this, you really get to customize these to your liking. Delicious. This would be great for having people over to watch a game or something like that. Taco Bell step aside.
Hey Allison,
I am thrilled that you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for making it! xTieghan
Okay. I was skeptical I’ll admit. This seemed like a lot of work for a weeknight dinner. BUT I gave it a go and OMG I cannot believe how well those turned out. My husband was like…hang on, you make these?! Thanks for pushing me outside of my comfort zone on this one! Really fun to put together and proud of my accomplishment 🙂
While I’m here… I would love to see some winter salads!! Please!!!
Hey Tabitha,
I am thrilled that you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for making it! xTieghan
Don’t sleep on the dorito seasoning for the tostada! We used plain yogurt instead of sour cream. And 2 corn tortillas instead of 1 smaller size. Turned out amazing! I’ve never been to Taco Bell but I would definitely make this again.
Hey Jessica,
I am thrilled that you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for making it! xTieghan
Another winner for my husband and I! We loved doing this together, as it is more personal of what to add in the wrap and the assembly portion goes quicker with help. It is a great way to use up saved hot sauce packets from Taco Bell. We decided next time to just buy tostadas pre-made. The corn tortillas I bought from Trader Joe’s are too thick to get nice and crisp. Overall, I feel better about eating this and would make it again. I am a Half Baked Harvest girl through and through! I can always expect a delicious meal. Thank you, Tieghan! ❤️
Hey Maggie,
I am thrilled that you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for making it! xTieghan
Oh. My. Gosh. These are amazing! My son loves Taco Bell and I have been hoping for a healthier alternative. He and my husband completely devoured these. THANK YOU!!!! Your recipes are seriously the best!!! Keep up the amazing work! ❤️❤️❤️
Hey Hilary,
I am thrilled that you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for making it! xTieghan
I thought the six small soft tortillas was a typo so I didn’t buy those from the grocery. I was able to adapt but definitely made things a little harder! Also my lettuce wilted when toasting up but other than those small lessons learned, really yummy!
Hey Elizabeth,
Thanks for giving the recipe a try, no typo in the recipe:) xTieghan
absolutely delicious!
Thanks so much Taylor! xTieghan
Made these tonight and wow! This is a new favorite. My son, who loves Taco Bell, said these were better! We had fun making these together.
Hey Megan,
I am thrilled that you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for making it! xTieghan
This was awesome!! I used sour cream instead but I think yogurt would be great too..My family loved it and it will become a regular dish in our house!
Hey Pam,
I am thrilled that you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for making it! xTieghan
Huge hit with our family of teenage boys! Easy to assemble, and very filling. Adding to our regular rotation. Thank you – your ideas for delicious & easy to make food are endless!
Hey Sarah,
Thanks so much for trying the recipe. I am glad you enjoyed it! xTieghan
Hi! I went to Whole Foods to get Siete tortillas and they were totally out (everyone must be loving this recipe!). So, I attempted with slightly larger Cassava Tortillas in place of the corn, and some brown rice tortillas in place of the burrito. It…did not work haha! Well, the taste was all there, but it was impossible to wrap! Messy yummy though. Definitely would stick with Tiegan’s suggestion of true corn-size and burrito-size tortillas. Can’t wait to make these again when Seite is back in stock!
Hey Molly,
So sorry you struggled with the tortillas, thanks for giving the recipe a try! xTieghan
These were fantastic!! My kids love tacos (who doesn’t?!) But I was still prepared to hear complaining that it wasn’t the usual taco form. They all raved about them, and asked when we could have them again! My oldest and pickiest even said it’s his #2 favorite meal now, behind pizza 😁 I added queso to the cheese layer, because when is queso not a good idea? Thanks for another another mealtime staple!
Hey Krista,
Thanks so much for trying the recipe. I am glad you enjoyed it! xTieghan
Vegetarian choice?
Hey Nancy,
Peppers and mushrooms would be great, same with beans! I hope you love the recipe, please let me know if you have any other questions! xTieghan
My teenaged son loooved the recipe. I had some minor issues getting the big tortilla stick to the smaller one. I mistakenly bought regular large tortillas and whole wheat small tortillas. I wet them both as instructed and they kind of stuck together but opened up at one end – is there a trick for this? They still tasted great though.
Hey Catherine,
Thanks so much for trying the recipe. I am glad you enjoyed it! So sorry these stuck together:) xTieghan
I am rating this even before I try it all together!lol This week I have made the hot honey chicken pretzel tenders and now today this one! I prepped the meat and tostadas in advance (work schedule) and will warm everything up and then assemble. I know this is gonna be a new family fave!
Hey Adriana,
Thank you so much, I really hope you love the recipe! xTieghan
Oh my gosh these were so good With that crispy corn tortillas I sprinkled the Dorito seasoning and added the lime zest as well. I will for sure be making these again
Hey Marie,
Thank you so much for making the recipe. I am thrilled that it was enjoyed! xTieghan
Seriously delicious!!!! My family devoured them and thought they beat Taco Bell. Not hard to make, my tortillas were so big I didn’t need the smaller one to close it up.
Hey Catherine,
Thank you so much for making the recipe. I am thrilled that it was enjoyed! xTieghan
Made this tonight and it was a huge hit. Even though I over stuffed them. I was even told I need to start my own cooking show LOL.
Hey Joellen,
Thank you so much for making the recipe. I am thrilled that it was enjoyed! xTieghan
Made these tonight. Oh. My. Word. These were amazing! The entire family loved them. i will be adding these into a regular rotation. Thank you so much for another wonderful recipe!
Hey Julie,
Thank you so much for making the recipe. I am thrilled that it was enjoyed! xTieghan
Hi! Could I use additional corn tortillas instead of the mini taco sized whole wheat ones?
Hey Jill,
Yes, that would work well. I hope you love the recipe, please let me know if you have any other questions! xTieghan
I’ve made this recipe twice, and it is UNBELIEVABLY good!! Seriously, cannot recommend this one enough!
Hey Stephanie,
Thank you so much for making the recipe. I am thrilled that it was enjoyed! xTieghan
My teenage sons have officially declared me the Queen of the World after making these! They were delicious, easy to prepare, and my family LOVED them! These will definitely make the regular dinner rotation.
Hey Amy,
I am so glad you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for making it! xTieghan
I’m trying this recipe tonight and am super pumped. For the “Doritos” seasoning blend, is it equal parts of each spice? Like a teaspoon of each or something? Thanks!
Hey Megan,
The Doritos seasoning blend is listed above in the recipe notes:)
Doritos Seasoning: In a small bowl, mix 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon cumin, 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika, 1/2 teaspoon chili powder, and 1 teaspoon kosher salt. Add cayenne pepper for even more kick. Sprinkle over the warm tostadas.
I hope you love the recipe, please let me know if you have any other questions! xTieghan
I made these tonight and I thought they were really good but I would definitely say they take some practice! They seemed to be piled a little high in the middle to get evenly brown. I also thought it was challenging to know how much water to use to make the tortillas stick together before browning. I would definitely recommend reading the recipe through, several times before making! Plenty to prep ahead, which would make the process faster! Great flavor and great idea! Thanks!
Hey Cathy,
I am so glad you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for making it! xTieghan
I just made these last night and WOW – so tasty, so crunchy, and loved the amount of spice! Way better than the real thing. Going the extra mile with making your own tostadas and the “dorito” seasoning makes this one a standout. Can’t wait to make again – perfect mid-week treat!
Hey Kelli,
Thanks so much for making the recipe, I am so glad it was enjoyed! xTieghan
Once again it’s another 5 star recipe for me!! So delicious it will be on repeat dinner rotation!
Hey Amber,
Thanks so much for making the recipe, I am so glad it was enjoyed! xTieghan
I was really looking forward to making this recipe. I have not used the Siete wraps before, and now I know I will never use them again. They were not pliable even after heating and following the directions. They did not stick together when trying to wrap the large burrito size around the smaller one. I would try making this again with regular flour tortillas.
Hey Christine,
So sorry you had issues with the tortillas, these work really well for me. Let me know if I can help for next time! xTieghan
LOVED this!! I made this specifically for my husband because he is obsessed with them, this is 100x better though.
I did make some changes for anyone reading in the comments, I didn’t make the tostadas from scratch but will try that next time because I think it would taste even better! I used burrito-sized flour tortillas and corn tortillas for the smaller tortillas. I recommend everyone to make sure that you brush both tortillas with water because if you don’t it will fall apart!! I don’t have a brush so I just dipped my hands in a cup of water and rubbed it over the tortilla, then used a spatula to brush it on. Make sure that you brush the edges with water!! I also used Mexican crema instead of yogurt or sour cream.
Also, so easy to assemble for leftovers! Thanks, Tieghan!
Hey Mitra,
I am so glad the recipe worked out for you! Thanks for making it:) Happy Friday! xTieghan
I am a forever fan of the OG Crunchwrap from TBell and I have tried to duplicate it before. This recipe is the closest I have ever come to matching the same flavor except it’s sooo much better! This really hits the spot and there’s just so much flavor. I added some Siete spicy blanco queso to add some extra kick and it was very good! This will be a repeat in our kitchen! Thank you!
Hey Whitney,
I am so glad the recipe worked out for you! Thanks for making it:) Happy Friday! xTieghan
Made this with beyond beef. One of the tastiest things I’ve ever made.
Hey Liz,
I am so glad the recipe worked out for you! Thanks for making it:) Happy Friday! xTieghan
Making this tonight! Could the crunch wrap be cooked in the air fryer instead of pan, I wonder? Let me know your thoughts, I may try it out in the air fryer! Thanks so much!
Hey Mary,
Sorry I have not tested this in an air fryer! I hope you love the recipe, please let me know if you have any other questions! xTieghan
I made these and doubled the recipe because I know they would be awesome. Not to disappoint, they were delicious. All the recipes I have tried from your site are amazing. Thank you for making meals great again 🙂
Hey Kim,
I am thrilled that you enjoyed the recipe, thanks for making it! I hope you have an awesome weekend:) xTieghan
This was such a fantastic and fun recipe to put together! Very flavourful!
Thank you for another great recipe!
Hey Lori,
I am thrilled that you enjoyed the recipe, thanks for making it! I hope you have an awesome weekend:) xTieghan
My family looooooved these! And they are usually super picky. I used Tajin seasoning on the tostadas and a little in the meat seasoning. Delicious!
Hey Kara,
I am thrilled that you enjoyed the recipe, thanks for making it! I hope you have an awesome weekend:) xTieghan
Can’t wait to try this! Could I use the corn tortillas for both the tostadas and the small tortilla that goes on top? Trying to cut down on how much I buy 🙂
Hey Kirsten,
Yes, that should work well. I hope you love the recipe. Let me know if I can help in any other way! xTieghan
These tasted sooo great but ended up being fairly soggy- they didn’t crunch up the way I expected them to… not sure what I did wrong! That said, I loved the homemade tostada with dorito seasoning -by far my favorite part about this recipe!
Hey Nicole,
Thanks so much for giving the recipe a try, I am so glad it was enjoyed! Happy Sunday! xTieghan
Just made these tonight and they were a hit with the family! Will definitely make again!
Hey Amy,
Thanks so much for giving the recipe a try, I am so glad it was enjoyed! Happy Sunday! xTieghan
Amazing! Made as is. Next time don’t wait a whole year hahah
Totally fell in love with these and they’re better than Taco Bell’s! Thanks for producing another culinary adventure…especially during COVID times when drive thrus are sooo long lol.
Hey Mistie,
Thanks so much for giving the recipe a try, I am so glad it was enjoyed! Happy Sunday! xTieghan
I love crunchwraps!! I made this today and it turned out to be so delicious! My sister loved it, too. I don’t even remember how I came across your IG account but I’m so glad I did.
Hey Carrie,
Thanks so much for giving the recipe a try, I am so glad it was enjoyed! Happy Sunday! xTieghan
LOVED THESE! By boyfriend was over the moon. I’ve never used Siete tortillas before. Thank you for introducing me to the brand. I will definitely be using them as a healthy alternative in the future. Also this is such a fun date night recipe. Loved assembling them ourselves based on our favorite ingredients. Great DYI… especially with a fresh lime juice margarita
Hey Megan,
Thanks so much for giving the recipe a try, I am so glad it was enjoyed! Happy Sunday! xTieghan
This is an amazing recipe! Easy to make and delicious, this was a big hit with my whole family. Thank you!
Hey Marirose,
I am so glad that the recipe was enjoyed, thanks so much for making it! Have a great week:) xTieghan
I made these for dinner tonight. Delicious! I did not use the chipotle chili powder because it seems to be a bit too spicy for my kids. I just used chili powder. Otherwise, I followed the recipe. Wouldn’t change a thing! Definitely will be making these again. Yum! I highly recommend!
Hey Bethany,
I am so glad that the recipe was enjoyed, thanks so much for making it! Have a great week:) xTieghan
This recipe was delicious! I replaced the meat with black beans and mushrooms, but kept the rest the same, and it turned out great! So much fun!
Hey Deborah,
I am so glad that the recipe was enjoyed, thanks so much for making it! Have a great week:) xTieghan
Delicious and easy! Huge hit tonight and will make again.
Hey Stephanie,
I am so glad that the recipe was enjoyed, thanks so much for making it! Have a great week:) xTieghan
These were awesome and the meat (using hamburger) was so good. Good pictures and instructions and they came together easily. We loved them. Thank you
Hey Susan,
Thanks so much for making the recipe, I am so glad it was enjoyed! xTieghan
Love love love! Definitely going into the regular recipe rotation! Love how super easy and quick it was to make, and love how accessible all the ingredients are!
Hey Erin,
Thanks so much for making the recipe, I am so glad it was enjoyed! xTieghan
These were SO delicious. I made the tostada and the final wrap in the air fryer, worked perfect!
Hey Jessica,
Thanks so much for making the recipe, I am so glad it was enjoyed! xTieghan
Oh.My.Gosh. So delicious! Taco Bell is my husband’s favorite fast food restaurant, but I can honestly say I’ve never had his favorite crunchwraps. He loved them, I loved them and we will be making those again soon.
Hey Brittany,
Thanks so much for making the recipe, I am so glad it was enjoyed! xTieghan
I would appreciate more instructions about how to fold. I could not get it to stay put! That said, the seasoning was delicious. I used black beans instead of meat and tortilla chips instead of a tostada (the store was out of tostada shells and I didn’t want to turn on the oven). YUM!
Hey Kallan,
Thanks for trying the recipe, if you checkout my IG, you can watch the video on how I fold them:) xTieghan
Absolutely delicious. Made these last night and already can’t wait to go home tonight and have leftovers! Super simple once you make the first one and get the process down. Will absolutely make this again!
Hey Lindsey,
Thanks so much for giving the recipe a go, I am thrilled that it was enjoyed! Have a great week:) xTieghan
This was delish!! So easy and was a big crowd favorite!
Hey Elizabeth,
Thanks so much for trying out this recipe, I am thrilled that you liked it! I hope you have a great week:) xTieghan
My taco-bell loving husband and I loveeeeed this recipe!!! If our tostadas came out a bit too chewy, does that mean we need more or less time in the oven? We tried some with lime zest + salt as well as some with the Dorito seasoning and loved the flavor of both!
This is recipe #10 or so that we’ve tried from HBH + so far we have been amazed at the turnout of all of them!! Thanks for bringing fun back into our kitchen : )
Hey Kelsey,
Thanks so much for trying out this recipe, I am thrilled that you liked it! I hope you have a great week:) xTieghan
Theres no way these are the same tortillas.
Hey there,
So sorry I am not sure what your question is? Let me know how I can help! xTieghan
These are TOO GOOD. The assembly is really fun too. Just one is pretty filling. I made all of them at once so we had leftovers. They still tasted great the next day but weren’t very “crunchy” anymore, so next time I’ll just save the ingredients separately, assemble and put in the pan right before we eat leftovers!
Hey Alicia,
Thanks so much for trying out this recipe, I am thrilled that you liked it! I hope you have a great week:) xTieghan
Made these last night and they were so delicious! We added black beans too. We’ll definitely be making them again. I was shocked at how easy they were.
Hey Virginia,
Thanks so much for trying out this recipe, I am thrilled that you liked it! I hope you have a great week:) xTieghan
Going for it tonight and will post a review later, it took a little time to assemble the ingredients. For some reason the little mini tortillas are hard to find in our area. We really had the cheeses and spices but needed the tortillas and plain yogurt (we love yogurt but we usually buy it with fruit). Will be making with ground chicken since we’ve had a few ground beef recipes recently! Two questions:
1) how would baking it at the end do instead of using the skillet? Would it be less crispy or about the same?
2) would this freeze well at all – maybe assembled but not skilleted? Or maybe I’ll just freeze the individual ingredients for assembling later.
Hey Deb,
I hope you love the recipe! I think you could definitely bake these in place of using the skillet. I have not tried freezing these, but I think if you were to assemble them and then freeze that it would work well. Let me know if you have any other questions! xTieghan
Why are people so nasty with the serving quantity question? Use common sense people. if you need to make 6 crunch wraps, add 2 tortillas to the recipe. I’m sure you can chop up one extra tomato if needed as well. Geez. Tieghan is a human and it was a typo and it was fixed immediately. No need to get “annoyed”. Put your energy into more important things. Tieghan – You’re a rockstar for answering so politely. I could never be an influencer (LOL). Love all your recipes. Making this one tonight and i’m stoked!
Hey Roxana,
Thank you so much for your super kind message! I hope you love this recipe:) xTieghan
This came out really well! Excellent seal of approval from my hubby and me. A couple of notes to self for future: the folding was difficult but I realized the best thing was to start the cooking with the folded side down. That seemed to seal it and made it easy to flip over. We ended up using our double griddle and did 2 at a time rather than baking as I asked earlier.
I tried to make it spicier when suggested because we like spicy. Others may prefer to use mild peppers and not use hot sauce, maybe mild salsa instead. Speaking of salsa, I’d consider swapping a chunky salsa for the chopped cherry tomatoes. Also would consider bumping up the cheese and using more yogurt or swapping in sour cream (we like dairy). We also found corn tostadas that were already crispy at our grocery store so we were able to skip the step of baking the tostadas. We just sprinkled the “Doritos” spices on top of the yogurt. As you mentioned the first one was harder (although that was our best folded one) and it was easy to assemble after that. We ended up just picking them up to eat and didn’t use any other toppings or garnishes. Thanks for this great recipe, appreciate the work it must have taken!
Hey Deb,
Thanks so much for giving the recipe a try. I am so glad that it was enjoyed!! xTieghan
I had never had a crunch wrap before, but this looked so good I just had to try it. We all agreed – these were fabulous! Going into my favorites folder😋
Hey Trish,
Thanks so much for giving the recipe a try. I am so glad that it was enjoyed!! xTieghan
Delicious!! The whole family loved them & I adjusted the spicyness for my kids. Definitely making again! ❤️
Hey Robyn,
Thank you so much for giving the recipe a go, I am so glad you loved it! xTieghan
I actually combined this recipe with another to make it my own. I made a Mexican cheese sauce to put on top of the meat. The only thing I had a problem with was the large tortillas cracking when I folded the big one. I used the brand recommended, heated them, and even put water on them. When I went to fold in it cracked and was super hard to cook. This is my first time using these tortillas so I’m not sure what happened. I’ve made crunch wraps before but with flour tortillas and didn’t have the same problem. Our family loves your recipes! Maybe a video could help with this?
Hey Laura,
Thanks for giving the recipe a try, sorry you had issues with your tortillas! Yes, I do have a video saved to my IG highlights, feel free to check that out:) xTieghan
OH MY GOSH! These were insane! My husband loved them! We used the Siete tortillas like it said in the recipe. I was a little hesitant at first because they have an odd smell, but don’t let that throw you! They are so good. I didn’t use yogurt because I am sensitive to diary, so instead I used the avocado creama from the chicken tinga recipe and wow! This recipe is so darn good! Thank you!!!
Hey Erica,
Thanks a lot for making this recipe, I am delighted that it was enjoyed! Happy Friday:) xTieghan
I was able to find baked tostada shells at my local Kroger so that saved me a step! They didn’t stay crispy though by the time I got them all made for my family. Still great flavor!
Hey there,
I am so glad this recipe was enjoyed, thanks a lot for making it! Have a great weekend! xTieghan
I love all your recipes and this one is no different! So delicious!….. I pretty much use your recipes every night so thanks : )
Hey Brie,
I am thrilled you liked the recipe, thanks so much for giving it a go! Happy Sunday:) xTieghan
This was amazing! My fiancé is a Taco Bell lover (and I’ve never had it in my life). He rated this a 10/10, so good that we will have it for dinner again tonight. My parents also made it for dinner as well and loved it. My dad is very picky and has never had anything like this before and loved it so much he asked my mom to make him another!
Hey Megan,
I am thrilled you liked the recipe, thanks so much for giving it a go! Happy Sunday:) xTieghan
This recipe was so delicious!! A total flavor bomb! Way better than the original! Definitely will be making these again. 🙂
Hey Lauren,
I am so glad this recipe was enjoyed, thanks so much for giving it a try! Have the best week. xTieghan
SO GOOD! These tasted just like a Crunchwrap, but even better. I loved being able to customize everything as well. The taco seasoning is great (definitely has a kick to it!) I am super excited to keep this as a regular meal in my rotation.
Hey Sarah,
I am so glad this recipe was enjoyed, thanks so much for giving it a try! Have the best week. xTieghan
I made these for dinner tonight and they were fantastic! I’m a longtime devotee of Taco Bell and I can attest that these Crunchwraps were better than the original! My partner and I scarfed these down and we can’t wait to eat the leftover ones tomorrow. Making the Dorito seasoning for the tostadas was KEY! Thank you Tieghan for an awesome recipe!
Hey Kathryn,
I am so glad this recipe was enjoyed, thanks so much for giving it a try! Have the best week. xTieghan
Ok … this recipe is seriously so good!!! As I had it on hand, I made a slight revision in using ground pork . Secondly and this was outrageously good, after allowing the meat to absorb the water , I added balsamic vinegar and allowed to reduce down.. followed by a healthy dose of sriracha …YUM!
Hey Holly,
Thanks so much for giving the recipe a try, I am thrilled it was enjoyed! xTieghan
I made these and they were amazing! My husband loved them too!
I followed your recipe almost to the T- except use tortilla chips rather than the corn tortillas (had almost stale ones I needed to get ride of). I also sprayed them with coconut oil and cooked them in the air fryer on 345 for 8 mins. It worked great.
Thanks for this fun, healthy addition to our mundane covid routines.
Hey Sarah,
I am so thrilled that you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for trying it out!! xTieghan
Made this tonight and it was AMAZING! We will be making them again. One thing though, our corn tortilla/tostados got soggy after assembling everything and cooking the crunchwraps on the stovetop. Any suggestions on how to avoid that next time?
Hey there,
I am so thrilled that you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for trying it out!! xTieghan
I made these and they are REALLY good. I liked them because my son has a hard time keeping taco fillings inside when he eats them. So these were perfect! I had some plain tortilla chips that I used as the crunch layer for convenience, but I was sure to make the dorito seasoning. So good! I also love the taco seasoning for the meat, very tasty. I will admit, the assembly was a little messy the first few times (which I was warned it would be), but even the messy ones are not that bad. They only open slightly, and once they are crispy, the stay somewhat closed, and you can still enjoy eating them 😊 Thanks for such a great and healthy family friendly recipe!
Hey Kristin,
I am so thrilled that you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for trying it out!! xTieghan
Way too much salt between the tsp for the beef and tsp for the doritos seasoning. But if you cut that in half it’s pretty tasty as an elevated fast food recipe.
Hey Lex,
Thanks for trying the recipe, sorry it was too salty for you, just reduce it next time:) xTieghan
I consider myself an avid Taco Bell-Er but I am forever changed after making this recipe it is SO. GOOD. Plenty leftover so we kept all items separate in tubaware containers and will have more today!
Hey Kayla,
Thanks a lot for giving the recipe a go, I am so delighted that it was enjoyed! Have a great week:) xTieghan
These were great! The Doritos seasoning is perfect. We used sour cream and omitted the tomatoes, and just used spinach leaves instead of lettuce because that’s what we had in the fridge.
Hey Gloria,
Thanks a lot for giving the recipe a go, I am so delighted that it was enjoyed! Have a great week:) xTieghan
So, the real boon would be a recipe for the tortillas!! It was 80$ for 36 tortillas. That’s over 2$/per!!
Hey Rebecca,
You do not have to use that brand of tortillas, it is just what I used:) You are welcome to use an tortilla you like. I hope you love the recipe:) xTieghan
This recipe is AWESOME! I was really skeptical I’d be able to fold them but it actually wasn’t too bad! I just kept brushing water at spots where it wasn’t holding. I made this using your dorito seasoning and it was sooooo good! Got rave reviews. Would definitely make again!!
Hey Dani,
Thanks a lot for giving the recipe a go, I am so delighted that it was enjoyed! Have a great week:) xTieghan
Absolutely ADORED this recipe! My partner and I try to avoid meat where we can, so we subbed black beans for the beef but still used the same seasoning. Since the tortillas came in packs of 10, we’ve had a good excuse to make this several times this month — it’s very quickly become a household favorite! Also adapted slightly for a breakfast version by adding in some scrambled eggs with the beans, and that was delicious, too 🙂
Hey Veronica,
Thanks a lot for giving the recipe a go, I am so delighted that it was enjoyed! Have a great week:) xTieghan
We tried this recipe and it was so delish!! I am going to attempt again…Everything went well until we went to fry them on the pan and they started to unfold and ended up being less of a wrap. Any tips on having them not open up when you fry them in the pan? We did warm the tortillas in the oven not the microwave? Maybe that had something to do with it? Any tips would be appreciated! As always, love your creative recipes that I always look forward to try!
Hey Tori,
Thanks a lot for giving the recipe a go, I am so delighted that it was enjoyed! I try using the water to help keep them sealed, I have videos on IG stories if you need more of a visual. Have a great week:) xTieghan
Delicious! Couldn’t access some ingredients in the UK so used Parmesan instead of Monterrey jack and rather than making my own tostadas I got some hard shell tacos from the shops
Hey Maire,
I am thrilled you enjoyed this recipe, thanks so much for trying it out! xTieghan
These were delicious! I run a cooking class for some of my high school kids and we find your recipes so easy to create. Additionally, we love the ease that we can make substitutions. I made mine with shrimp and one of my students made hers with a chicken substitute. We added cilantro, lime and Dorito seasoning to the Greek yogurt, it was fabulous! Thanks for the great ideas.
Hey Jen,
I am so glad the recipe was enjoyed, thanks so much for giving it a try! xTieghan
These are AMAZING! I used pickled jalapenos instead of fresh, but that’s the only change I made. I will definitely make this recipe again!
Hey Jessie,
I am so glad the recipe was enjoyed, thanks so much for giving it a try! xTieghan

I never thought I’d be adding a Taco Bell inspired meal to the rotation, but here we are! These are incredible. I used ground turkey and added some lime zest to the Doritos seasoning for the tostadas. 10/10

FIRE! These are delicious, and easy! Thanks, T!
Thanks so much Shantel!! xTieghan
This is my favorite HBH recipe of all time, seriously. The crunch wraps have become a staple for us, super easy and delicious!
There were so many tortilla options at the store, so if you’re wondering what to get, this is what worked best for me: flour burrito size, yellow corn tortilla (not street size), and flour street tacos.
Hey Aisling,
Thanks a bunch for making this recipe, I am delighted it was enjoyed!! xTieghan
I’ve made these 3 times in the past 2 months and they were an instant hit! I’ve sent the recipe to multiple friends and they’ve loved it, too! I used an extra large burrito and left out the mini tortilla and it worked great. One of my favorite things about this recipe is that you can cook/cut everything as a “meal prep” and then build the crunch wrap and cook it whenever you decide to eat it so it tastes fresh without the work!
Hey Jenny,
Thanks a bunch for making this recipe, I am delighted it was enjoyed!! xTieghan
A Hit!! A delicious fun recipe that the entire family LOVED! Great crunch, loads of texture and flavours. Seasoning the tostadas with the ‘Dorito’ seasoning is a must. Used ground Turkey and that worked great. Well written recipe that’s easy to follow. I was intimidated assembling the first wrap, but on the second it was a breeze! I know these to have a cheese sauce drizzled in the layers, so I made a simple cheddar cheese sauce with low fat milk and added that in the layers- Yum! A keeper recipe! Thanks!

Loved it! Such a fun twist on taco night! The meat has great flavor and the Doritos seasoning is definitely worth the extra step!
Hey Lexi,
I am thrilled to hear this recipe was enjoyed. Thanks so much for giving it a try. Have a great week! xTieghan
This was so delicious!! Made it last night for our Sunday night family dinner and everyone gobbled it up including my 2 year old nephew! We used ground beef b/c its what I had in the freezer but wow, can’t wait to make this again! Thanks for all your delicious recipes. Your website and IG have been my go to place for new family dinners 🙂

What a great way to scratch the Taco Bell itch without actually having to eat Taco Bell! These were so fun to make and would be perfect to serve at a casual get together (everyone can help assemble). My only changes were subbing regular chili powder for the ancho chili powder and paprika instead of smoked paprika. I’m not a huge fan of either flavor so those are subs I make for most HBH recipes and it works out just fine!
Thanks so much for trying the recipe Katie! I am so glad it was enjoyed! xTieghan
My twin and I are huge Taco Bell crunchwrap fans, but we just found our new favorite. You are a genius in the kitchen, Tieghan. We love all your recipes and we love cooking them as a family. Thank you!

Hii! New to the site! Excited to make this! My husband works second shift so everything I cook he ends up reheating in the microwave or toaster oven. Anyone reheat these?! Are they good? Just looking to make sure it isn’t like soggy when reheated. Thanks!
Hey Jennifer,
You can reheat in the oven. I hope you love the recipe, please let me know how they turn out! xTieghan
So delicious, a huge hit! Even my son who usually hates anything in a tortilla (strange, I know) gobbled it up. Instead of meat I used cooked & seasoned pinto beans, which worked great. This one’s a keeper!
Hey Miriam,
Thanks so much for making this recipe, I am so glad that it was enjoyed! xTieghan
These were everything! Way easier to fold up than I expected, especially after getting the tortilla edges wet. We bought extra large tortillas from the store and they managed to wrap up the entire thing. Using my favorite hot sauce swirled into the yogurt added an awesome extra kick too. Thank you so much for this recipe!
Hey Lacey,
Awesome!! I am thrilled that this recipe was enjoyed, thanks so much for giving it a go! xTieghan
This was amazing! I was so afraid I was going to make a giant gross mess, but they turned out perfect. I substituted some things here and there (type of cheese, tortilla type, etc.). I will 100%be making these again. Thank you!!!

These are amazing. I’m vegetarian so I’ve done beans and tonight I’ll do cauliflower, while my boyfriend does chicken. They are flexible and fun to make. I am a huge taco bell fan but I’d choose these any day! They’ve become a staple in our house.
