Holiday Pear Sangria + a Giveaway.
Every good party needs a great cocktail, and this Holiday Pear Sangria is just that. It’s my favorite festive drink to serve up this season. White wine mixed with pear brandy, fresh pears, cranberries, winter citrus, spices, and a splash of ginger beer. It’s sweet, refreshing, so easy to make, and perfect for all holiday parties.
This post is sponsored by Harry & David.
To celebrate the season, I recently traveled to New York City to host a very fun and special holiday event and cookbook signing with Harry & David. I walked everyone through how I create the perfect holiday cheese board, signed books, and chatted the night away. It was so fun to get meet some of you in person, and to hear your stories of how you came to find me and Half Baked Harvest. It was truly such a special night. I’m SO grateful for all of you who continue to read and make HBH recipes in your kitchen.
As mentioned, I teamed up with Harry & David to create a festive holiday cheese board. To go along with it, I created this sweet pear sangria you see here. Both of which were served at the event. This sangria is one of my favorites, it’s great for easy holiday entertaining!
To make this sweet pear sangria, simply mix white wine with a little apple or pear brandy, then add in seasonal fruits like pears, cranberries, and winter citrus. I love topping my sangria off with ginger beer for a nice spicy kick. So delicious and refreshing.
You can make this up to couple of days ahead, perfect for the busy hostess.
Since not all of you could attend the event in NYC I wanted to share some photos. I’d also like to gift one reader a Gift Basket and a 12 Month delivery to the Fruit of the Month Club!

My favorite holiday tradition is singing Christmas carols with my family around the tree.
Love this easy sangria! My favorite holiday tradition is going waking up extra early to find presents under the tree and the tree lights still going. When the kids go to sleep (they are older now 19 and 12) we wrap presents and drink wine. Then we set up the tree and go to bed. In the morning we make homemade waffles. I love your posts and followed you and H&D on Insta. I just ordered your cookbook for a Christmas present for myself.

Every year, I look forward to putting up our Christmas tree. I put out a spread of appetizers so we can munch while decorating the tree, then after we’re done we always watch Christmas Vacation. It’s my favorite tradition!

My favorite holiday tradition is just the time of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. On Christmas Eve- eating a Scandinavian white fish and potatoes meal, watching a Christmas movie, and heading to 11pm church service to ring in Christmas at midnight by candlelight. On Christmas morning- Christmas music, the parade watching each other open presents, and Christmas breakfast casserole. Then naps, Christmas dinner, and a movie at the theatre. Love this! My favorite holiday tradition is Christmas Eve, (which also doubles as my moms birthday!) is always having a family member dress up as santa. They used to ring bells outside the door so we would think his reindeer landed, and then all of us cousins (there’s a lot of us!) would meet him! It was very intimate, and something we still continue to do for our kids and soon to be grand kids!
Hi there! Following you both. Favorite tradition?…It’s a close tie…picking out a fresh Christmas tree as a family. Also love how the house smells with the scents of the holidays, so I use the crock pot to make my own potpourri simmering in the kitchen.

My mom actually loves pears and pear drinks. For years I gifted her a pear liqueur for Christmas and we’d open it and make pear sidecars. This Sangria looks like a lovely (and less fussy!) alternative. I look forward to those quiet cocktails with my mom before all of our guests arrive.
I have lots of favorites, but I think the one that stands out the most would be the two culture melds of food, I’m Puerto Rican so we make coquito it’s a Puerto Rican eggnog, and then me kids make tamales, there half Mexican, it’s a full day event, and sometimes we even toss in a few batches of cookies while we’re waiting for the tamales… It’s the one thing that brings my adult kids running home lol… Tamale day every year in December… I wish you and your family a very merry Christmas and a happy new year
I love my tradition of going and cutting down our Christmas tree! With living in a larger city this year, my boyfriend kept the tradition alive by purchasing a tree from a local market that employs the local homeless community around the holidays. I can’t wait to keep doing this for years to come!
Following you both. My fav is putting up lights
My favorite Christmas tradition is after all the cooking and baking is done, my mother and I sit down and watch the movie While You Were Sleeping (Totally deserves to be called a Christmas Movie). Might have to make some Sangria instead of our usual boozy coffee ??

I love making Grittibänzen with the boys…reminds me of mom.
My favorite holiday tradition was started by my mother in law right after my now husband and I started dating. We love Christmas and knew we had some wonderful and loving traditions so we wanted to share that with others. 5 years ago a family at our church was in dire need of not Christmas gifts but of living essentials for their young children as the holiday season rolled in so as a family we stepped in. We decided to continue on with our loving family time spent together but to only celebrate the season of giving to those truly in need. This year we have “adopted” one of my mother in laws students family. They live in a shelter and are truly some of the sweetest people you would ever meet. We are having them over for Christmas, we are cooking for them, covering the essentials they have asked for and are just so excited to spend the holiday gathered together likely around a campfire in the backyard. It’s a lot, but that is our Christmas tradition and I think my husband gets a kick out of telling people “no, I don’t buy my wife a Christmas present ever!” Lol.
Favorite holiday tradition is the magic coco my siblings and I would make! It had a majic chocolate bell and was stirred with a candy cane and we all swore it sent us straight to sleep so Santa could come =)

Merry Christmas!
Favorite holiday tradition: I love to play “elf” or “Santa’s helper” in my condo complex, as so many of my neighbors are older and live alone. While they are still happily living independently, I need to keep in mind varying dietary and physical restrictions, so have filled up colorful gift bags with fresh seasonal fruit (starting with those delicious little clementines) that they can easily eat, and top with lots of festive tissue paper, This year, I added a cute box of Trader Joe’s Macaron soaps — three different pastel colors/scents, looking just like the real French Macaron, but definitely no calories! The gift bag is just a little surprise awaiting them at their front door and it’s such a joy to bring a smile to their faces each year at Christmas.
I love baking at the holidays- my husband always makes buckeyes and this year I did cookies and cinnamon sugar pecans. It’s our first Christmas with our baby so we’re so excited to start new traditions like giving her an ornament every year so she can have them for her tree when she has her own!

Cocktails and cookies on Christmas night!
Christmas Eve has been Stocking Stuffer night for 23 years. This night is my favorite part of Christmas and helped us build a new tradition after my dad passed away. My mom hangs a stocking for each of us at her house – nine including hers. We each put a gift for each person in (and around) the stockings. The rules have always been that everyone picks out and wraps their own stocking stuffers. (No handing them off to Mom to wrap!) The gifts are nominal but thoughtful. The kids, who are now young adults, still get as excited to give their gifts. A hand lotion. Hiking socks. Or last year my brother in law got everyone a different kind of animal slipper!

My favorite holiday tradition is cooking together as a family and playing games afterwards.
It is a very unconventional holiday tradition, but every Christmas Eve for the last few years, my husband and I go to our favorite sushi Restraunt, we belly up to the bar and snag two corner seats. Drink mai tais, pretending we are on a beach while we watch the snow fall outside. We eat edamame and sushi, people watch all of the families who had the same idea as us come in and out in their best holiday attire, and Just chat and laugh. After a while we leave and head back home and make hot chocolate, throw on some Christmas music and do our gift exchange. It is our time together, just the two of us before the craziness that is the next day with all of the families.
