Christmas Sangria.
So can we talk about Christmas drinks??

Because it’s “Christmas Drink Saturday”!! Yes, yes, yes!
I have a few drinks to share this month and I’m pretty excited about them… OKAY, really excited about them! My family has been getting me into this whole mixed drink thing and even though I am not big on alcohol, I’m really having fun making them drinks. I will not lie, I am not the world’s best mixologist. I have made a few too many REALLY strong drinks (think sanitize your cuts STRONG). SO, I am sticking to pretty simple recipes, but learning a little more as I go.
I’m kicking off “Christmas Drink Saturday” with this festive sangria. It’s got all the flavors of Christmas + a bottle of wine. Yes, a little white wine, a little ginger beer, a little apple cider, some brandy, a few pears, a few oranges and a bunch of pomegranate arils. It’s definitely on the sweeter side due to the apple cider and ginger, so you have to be into a sweet drink. If you are, this is totally for you, and I gotta say, it’s pretty delicious!
And totally pretty! Perfect for your holiday parties!! Bring on the holiday entertaining!

It's got all the flavors of Christmas + a bottle of wine.
Ingredients
- 1 (750ml) bottle white wine
- 1 (12 ounce) ginger beer plus more for topping if desired
- 1 1/2 cups apple cider
- 1/2 cup brandy
- 3 pears sliced
- 3 oranges sliced
- arils from 1 pomegranate
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- cinnamon sugar for the rims of your glasses (optional)
Instructions
-
In a large pitcher, combine all the ingredient. Stir and then place in the fridge until chilled. Don't chill for longer than a few hours or the ginger beer will lose its fizz.
-
Before serving, rim your glasses with cinnamon sugar. Fill each glass with ice and pour the sangria over the ice. If desired top with more ginger beer. Garnish with sliced of pears, oranges and pomegranate arils. Drink up!
Recipe Notes
*To make this more than a few hours in advance, just add all the ingredients minus the ginger beer. Then before serving, stir in the ginger beer!

I am so ready for some Christmas Cheers!!
P.S. All the remaining drink recipes have fun quick videos, so get ready for next Saturday!! 🙂
That gif makes it look so tempting xD
I love how festive this is! Not sure how I feel about the cinnamon though
I love sangria and this really looks good.
I get headaches from alcohol but I would like a little bit of this or maybe a lot.
The pictures are really colorful.
I’m not usually one for Sangria but this one seems amazing – brandy, pomegranate, and the bonus of having the excuse of “it’s for Christmas” to try it? Perfect.
Also, all I really want to know is where you got those round glasses (tumblers? stemless wine glasses?). They look so nice ^.^
This is such a great idea! I always considered Sangria as a summer drink but, hey! Why not for winter too?? You just change the fruits et voilá!
Plus, it looks so good in your photos!!

This sangria is beyond pretty, I need a glass (or two! ;)).
Since we’ve not had any alcohol this year, I’ll be making it for new year to end the alcohol fasting. Looks and sounds beaut! But I may have to go heavy on the ginger beer and lighter on the wine. Zero tolerance and all that!
Everyone else is all about egg nog, but I’m gonna be all over this 😉
These are gorgeous! I love the colors, and it looks delicious. I am always looking for different drink combinations, especially around the holidays. Thanks for sharing!
Yum – trying it out for a Christmas party this weekend 🙂
Beautiful photography. I wonder if I could just use ginger beer + white grape juice for a non-alcoholic version? Also, where did you get those lovely glasses?
Hmm, bet that would be amazing! Maybe top with some sparkling water? The glasses are from Anthropolgie. Here is the link: http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/home-glassware-glassware/32885915.jsp#/
I made this for a Christmas party that my roommates and I hosted. It was an absolute hit! My only regret is that I didn’t make more.
YES! That is so awesome THANKS! Happy Holidays 🙂
I love this idea, but not so sweet, I wonder about using hard apple cider instead of regular apple cider?
Hard Cider I am sure would be awesome! Thanks Linda and Happy Holidays! 🙂
Made this for a NYE party, wow! Delicious and refreshing. I used the Q brand ginger beer which has a strong ginger flavor with a bit of extra seasonings and even a little spicy pepper, it was insanely good in this recipe. Thanks!
So happy you loved this, thanks and happy New Years!
Not a fan of ginger beer … would you substitute anything for that or just leave it out?
Hey Daisie!! You can omit it or use sparkling water. Let me know if you have questions. Hope you love this! 🙂
Do you think everything else could be prepared the night before, and the ginger beer added just before serving?
Yes, that works great! Let me know if you have questions. Hope you love this! 🙂
I’m interested in making this beautiful sangria. My one question is, you say ginger beer is it alcoholic or non alcoholic? I’ve seen both. Thank You and Merry Christmas!

I’m definitely making this for my craft night sangria party this year! Can I ask about the ginger beer? It says 1 ounce? I will be doubling the whole batch in large pitchers so how much ginger beer should I use (I will add at the last minute)?
HI! It is 1 (12 ounce) bottle ginger beer. So sorry about that. Recipe is all fixed! Please let me know if you have other questions. Hope you love this recipe! Thanks! 🙂

May I simply just say what a comfort to discover a person that really knows what they are talking about online.
You certainly know how to bring a problem to light and make it important.
More and more people really need to look at this and understand this
side of the story. I can’t believe you are not more popular
since you most certainly have the gift.
When someone writes an piece of writing he/she maintains the idea of
a user in his/her brain that how a user can understand it.
Thus that’s why this article is great. Thanks!
Thanks! xTieghan
This looks delicious! I don’t have any pear or pomegranate, but I’m wondering if I could substitute apples and cranberries instead and still have the same/similar turnout?? What do you think? Thanks!
Hey Candace,
I think both of those would work nicely. I hope you love the recipe, please let me know if you have any other questions! Happy Holidays! xTieghan
