With only one Saturday left before Christmas I’m feeling as though this season is way too short this year. Anyone else feeling the same? We just had Thanksgiving and then suddenly Christmas has crept right up, and we’re now only 11 days away. My brothers and cousins will all slowly be arriving a week from today. This means that the holiday cocktail prep and planning on my end is in full force.

I now have many cocktail recipes in my back pocket. But when it comes to Christmas drinks I really like to share some new and exciting ones with the family over the holiday. Last week it was this The Spicy Sweet Grinch Cocktail and this week it’s all about party punch. It’s simple, it’s easy, extra festive, and so delicious.

Here are the details.

With friends and family in town, everyone needs a good party punch they can make ahead and then have guests serve themselves throughout the night. Enter my sparkling Christmas party punch. It’s basically sangria, but all done up for Christmas.

Here is how this goes. I like to use a dry white wine, such as Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc. Add the wine, sweet pomegranate juice, vodka, a splash of orange liquor, fresh grapefruit slices, pomegranate arils, and cinnamon sticks to a large pitcher. Then chill in the fridge until ready to serve…

But just before serving I like to add one last ingredient. Can you guess?

Yes, it’s ginger beer. I know, surprise, surprise. I am maybe just a little bit obsessed, but in my opinion, ginger beer makes everything better. It adds both sweetness and spice, and well, I find it delicious. The key is to add the ginger beer only just before serving so that it doesn’t lose any of its bubbly fizz.

To make these extra festive…

Rim each glass in cinnamon sugar. I always find this to be a sweet and pretty touch for holiday cocktails. It’s all about those little details. Especially during the holiday season.

This Christmas party punch is both refreshing and warming, perfect for the snowiest December nights…

Complete with my favorite holiday candles, family, and friends. OK and maybe a cozy fire too. ENJOY!
