Salted Pretzel Nutella Fudge Milkshake with Malted Milk Whipped Cream.
THANK GOD IT’S FRIDAY.
All caps were very much needed up there. Friday!! YEAH!
For one, it’s kind of been a long week. With one too many fails in the kitchen that have left me feeling just plain mad (cause really, they should not have been fails!).
Two…I get to tell you guys about this milkshake…finally…my excitement is through the roof!
Or, my excitement was through the roof until about and hour ago. You know that feeling when you have a pit in your stomach??
Either you are really nervous, really excited or just can’t get a bad thought out of your head?? Yeah well, that is my current situation, and it’s horrible. I just discovered mouse droppings on my pantry shelves. NOOOO.
I guess this is what I get for living in a barn. The struggle is real people. Eww. Mice. Eww.
Honestly though, I am not afraid of mice, just completely grossed out by them. Which, I don’t know, maybe that is scared, but I really do not like dirty things and mice are dirty and their little bodies whittled through my pineapple, ate a hole in my flour and pretty much ruined my thoughts for like the next week. UGH. Mice, go away and never, ever come back.
Pretty please with a cherry on top?!
I am going to try to put the mice out of my head though. I mean, we have serious milkshake business to discuss, and since it’s Friday, I will try to get right down to the point.
With the end of summer approaching, I knew I really wanted to send summer off with a bang. Basically I created one of the bestest milkshakes I could. It’s sweet, salty and what all your dreams are made of. No really, this is a dream worthy milkshake.
It all started with a little Buzzfeed article on these beyond insane and over the top milkshakes that are taking over Instagram at the moment. I knew the second I laid eyes on those beauties that I wanted to create one of my own. I know that over the top can sometimes be annoying, but sometimes it’s just what we all need. And with only a handful of hot summer nights left, this overtop milkshake is ALL WE NEED. Think about nothing else, just get into the kitchen and make yourself a milkshake.
It’s fast, easy and SO GOOD!
I started off by making a super quick Nutella fudge. You don’t have to make this, but I also turned some of the fudge into fudge sauce for a drizzle, so you know, I would highly recommend making the fudge. I mean, it’s topped with pretzels for crying out loud and has an entire cup of Nutella.
Who am I kidding, you have to make the fudge!
You also need to make a super quick malted whipped cream. Then just add all the ingredients for the milkshake into a blender and blend. Pour it in a glass with a little fudge sauce, top with malted whipped cream, a thick drizzle of fudge (so serious) and a toasted marshmallow (oh my gosh, yes, yes, yes!!).
I will not lie, it’s kind of a fat kids milkshake, but hey, some days that’s A-OK. You know? Just trust me, you know!!
Oh, and I do believe that Nutella and pretzels may be one of the best combos ever. Just sayin.

UGH! Mice. Gross. I mean cute little pet mice are fine but not if they’re running around as they please. Hope you can get rid of them soon – or maybe you need to get a kitty 😉
These milkshakes are truly over the top. And I’m sold on all things Nutella. And pretzels. Gah! Gimme 🙂
I would have been A-OK with just the fudge by itself, but in a milkshake too?!?! Ahhhhh!! So much better!
Tieghan WHAT! These milkshakes look INSANE! I also saw that buzzfeed article and I think you definitely knocked it out of the park with the milkshake trend. 😀
I said TGIF in the morning, all I need it to be really good is one of these crazy, crazy shakes, I don’t care that I font fit in my jeans, I don’t care if I get extra cellulite, I just want all three of them. PINNED.
Holy blissful cold and frothy, chocolately fudge, malted milk, salty sugar overload, Batman!
My jaw actually dropped when I saw these. They’re AMAZING.
And yes! I saw that Buzzfeed article and it really made me want to go to Australia. Apparently the food scene there is insane!!!
OH MY GOSH! I KNOW!! I am semi obsessed at the moment with all things Australia. Like I want to visit…err move these SO BAD!! The kicker is my 15 year old brother is there for a month right now to snowboard. I was SO jealous when I heard he was going, I was like “ahh, so where is my ticket?”. Ha!
Thanks Michelle and have a great weekend!
Tieghan, I just stumbled upon your beautifully photographed blog today and Nutella is my favorite food in the world! I first had it as an exchange student back in the 1980s, and it was nearly impossible to find in the U.S. so my German friends would send it to me on my birthday and at Christmas. Now, it’s thankfully everywhere and I have unashamedly shared my Nutella addiction with my daughter. Today ends the first week of school here in California and your milkshake will be her special treat for making the transition from summer vacation laziness to academic star! I’m looking forward to reading your blog!
Oh my dear goodness….they looks amazing!

These are GORGEOUS! And fudge and nutella together in a milkshake? Genius!
This has to be the Queen of over-the-top delicious, amazing milkshakes. And Nutella fudge? Come on, that looks goooood!
Oh man, why do you do this to me?! I’m sitting at work with 2 more hours to go, wanting to have this milkshake so badly…!!!! It sounds EPIC! The type of milkshake you’d want to share, but then not.

I recommend getting a cat to solve your mice problem. If you don’t have time to play with him/her get two kittens so they can entertain each other and compete in the “let’s catch some mice” game. I live in a complex in a rural area where all my neighbors complain of rodents but I have never seen evidence of any in my apartment thanks to Sweetie Pie.
What do you mean by “a fat kids milkshake”?
Tieghan is this FORREAL?! OMG. I’m already drooling. Nutella and pretzels and milkshake and…I can’t. Sign me up.
Even though I don’t drink milkshakes these pictures are wonderful.
You have a tiny little mouse hole somewhere?
My parents house had a few but luckily the mice stayed in the basement.
This is absolutely perfect.
I love love love your hand reaching for the milkshake! Gimme some of that!!
I just can’t believe how ridiculously delicious these look. Your photography always amazes me, but this one is extra good.
Sounds like your barn/house needs a cat!
A nutella milkshake??? BEST treat to have during that time of month! (TMI?)
These milkshakes are everything, I’m drooling!!
This sounds delicious. And thank you for making your recipes so easy to print.
Just looking at these shakes makes my mouth water. I love going to get a malt and having some fries! This recipe will make it’s way into my recipe book! I’ll be making these for a sweet treat!
I hate to be a buzz kill… but this recipe is listed under gluten free…. but it is not gluten free. 🙁
The pretzels can be substituted, but malted anything has gluten in it as far as I have found. If I am wrong- PLEASE correct me, because this sounds amazing!
Oh my goodness, I just had a diabetic fit looking at this recipe 😛
I shall add this to my list of recipes to try.
Delicioso tengo que probar esta receta! Te contare saludos
M Eugenia
Gracias!!
