5 Ingredient Cranberry Brie Cinnamon Puff Pastry Swirls.
These (almost idiot proof) 5 Ingredient Cranberry Brie Cinnamon Puff Pastry Swirls are my favorite easy appetizer. They’re quick, simple, and most importantly, everyone LOVES them. Flaky puff pastry, creamy Brie cheese, dried cranberries, and a touch of sweet cinnamon sugar (promise it works). All rolled together then baked to create the perfect cheesy pastry swirls. These are the perfect, sweet and savory festive appetizers that are ideal for holiday entertaining.
There are very few recipes I turn to time and time again. But these fun, slightly sweet yet still savory, pastry swirls have been my go-to Thanksgiving appetizer for years now. It’s not all that often that I repeat recipes in my kitchen, but when it comes to holiday recipes, I LOVE tradition more than anything. Some of you might recognize these from way, way back when. And for some of you, this might be a brand new recipe. Regardless of whether it’s old or new, I am SO EXCITED to be sharing these swirls today. These are one of my mom’s favorite holiday appetizers.
Originally I was going to share a completely different, very dessert-like post today. But then something on Monday morning just told me that I NEEDED to instead share another easy appetizer. I know we just talked about these goat cheese stuffed bacon wrapped dates, but with Thanksgiving next week, and all of the upcoming holiday parties, I figured we needed all of the appetizer recipes we can get our hands on.
Right? Yes, yes, certainly hoping so! Plus, these are just so fun, easy, and DELICIOUS. I’ve yet to meet a person who doesn’t love this recipe.
Here is what you need to make these cranberry brie pastry swirls…
Store-bought puff pastry…holiday tip, always keep puff pastry in the freezer, especially during November and December.
Salted butter…just a little, but it goes a long way.
Cinnamon sugar…yes, cinnamon sugar. Again, only just a little, but it’s the secret ingredient here.
Creamy Brie cheese…for obvious reasons. It’s the most delicious ingredient here.
Dried cranberries…a pantry staple that never gets enough love that’s perfect for pairing with creamy Brie.
If you can make cinnamon rolls, you can me these swirls. Just layer the pastry with butter, cinnamon sugar, brie, and cranberries. Roll up the pastry, slice, and bake. DONE. That’s it. These take only minutes to prepare, minutes to bake, and come out of the oven looking more incredible than you could imagine.
Trust me. I make these every year and I’m still taken back every single time I pull them out of the oven. There’s just nothing not to love about bubbly melty Brie with cranberries and flaky pastry. And the addition of a little cinnamon sugar? Just two simple words…
SO GOOD.
The Secret?
Um, yes, it’s that cinnamon sugar. I know it’s odd and unusual, but let me explain. First, you should note that we are not using a lot of sugar, only a pinch and it really goes a long way.
The sweet cinnamon in combination with the cranberries, Brie, and pastry is what makes these swirls sparkle. Literally.
Whenever I’m working with cranberries I always find they need to be paired with something sweet to break up their tartness and highlight just how delicious they really are. Since I love playing with sweet and savory flavor combinations, I tested out the addition of cinnamon. At first I was nervous, but after the first bite, I knew I stumbled across something crazy delicious. The sweet cinnamon adds a nice warmth that pairs perfectly with the creamy Brie and balances out the tart cranberries.
It’s the perfect marriage of flavors and feels especially fitting for this time of year.
An import note…
These are a little messy. When you pull them out of the oven, you may worry that they’re too messy. But, just let the swirls sit on the pan for a few minutes and the cheese will set and be much easier to work with. They’re still going to be a little messy, but such a great appetizer, and so worth a few sticky fingers! They’re bite-sized and great for prepping in advance and then popping in the oven just as guests arrive.
These take only a few minutes to bake. They’ll come out of the oven just as everyone is settling in and beginning to look for apps.
My biggest tip? Double the recipe. This recipe makes about sixteen pastry swirls, but everyone eats at least two…sometimes more. Again, they’re bite-sized…and so very, very GOOD!

5 Ingredient Cranberry Brie Cinnamon Puff Pastry Swirls.
A festive sweet and savory appetizer that's ideal for holiday entertaining!
Ingredients
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 3 tablespoons salted butter, melted
- 6 ounces Brie cheese, rind mostly removed and finely diced
- 3/4 cup dried cranberries
- 2-4 tablespoons cinnamon sugar, using more or less to taste
Instructions
-
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Unroll the puff pastry on a clean work surface. Brush the pastry with 1 tablespoon melted butter and then sprinkle with 1-2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar. Sprinkle the diced brie and cranberries evenly over the pastry.
3. Starting at the long end, roll the pastry up as tightly as possible (like a cinnamon roll). Brush the roll with the remaining melted butter and then sprinkle the roll with cinnamon sugar to coat. Using a sharp knife, cut into 16 swirls.
4. Place the swirls on the prepared baking sheet and bake 15-25 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the pastry golden, these are a little messy. Allow to sit on the pan about two minutes and before transferring to a serving plate. Serve warm.
Recipe Notes
To Make Ahead: prepare through step 3. Place the swirls on a parchment lined baking sheet. Cover and keep in the fridge for up to 2 days. When ready to bake, preheat the oven and bake the swirls as directed.
Cinnamon Sugar: mix 1/4 cup sugar with 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon. Store in an airtight container.

You are definately not someone who says something and then doesn’t follow through. I am dying to see your barn photos but don’t feel too pressured because we all understand how dificult a project like that is and how unpredictable life is. These swirls are not only major cute but I bet they taste delicious. Keep up the amazing inspirations!
Hey Tori! Thank you so much for your sweet words. Making me smile! 🙂
These puff pastry swirls look like just the thing to help anyone de-stress!
Thanks so much! 🙂
Hang in there. Sounds like you have a wonderful and supportive faimly, what a perfect thing to give thanks for. I’m new to your site and love the visuals they are fabulos. I look forward to trying this recipe for the Holidays.
Thanks Trish! My families is great! 🙂
Let me know if you have any questions, so happy to have a new reader!
I know the frustration you’re going thru – went thru it when our house was being built 20 years ago. Don’t worry – it will all work out – hard to believe now but trust me. These swirls look insane – I will be making these on Thanksgiving day. Actually probably the day before and then just baking them off on Thanksgiving – perfect Tieghan!
Thanks for the kind and encouraging words!! You are so sweet, Kathy!
Try to relax and let it all happen as it will. Many things are out of your control now, so just take a few deep breaths and know that “this too shall pass.” It will all be something to chuckle about down the line!(really!)
As for this recipe, it looks really gooooood, and I will give it a go sometime over the holidays. I have no doubt it will taste as delcious as it looks! Happy Holidays 🙂
Yes, I need to keep telling myself that sometimes things are out of my control.
Thank you so much, Melissa!!
Man, oh man! Bake it out. Just bake it out…you can face any code requirement with a fistful of cookies and perhaps a bit of booze 🙂 Hoping December 15th finds you in your new digs!
Thank you so much, Mallory!!
Tieghan, you are a brilliant cook and I look forward to your blog everyday. You and your mom are troupers in dealing with the county. Just remember, “never give in, never surrender.” One day soon, you will have your new barn home. Cheers, Ardith
THANK YOU!! The support is very much needed! 🙂
Ok, Tieghan I completely understand where you are coming from! Sorry you are feeling so stressed, and will send all the luck I can your way! You have done such a wonderful job with these little pastry swirls though, they are gorgeous!
Thank you for the sweet thoughts!! 🙂
Oh my gosh, I just want to hug you through the screen! Whenever I read your words you always strike me as the most thoughtful, compassionate human 🙂 just so lovely. I can’t even imagine how stressful this must be and how frustrating, but you’re handling it SO well!!! It seems like par for the course for renovations always, inevitably taking 100x longer than projected…. so don’t worry, we’ll all be JUST as excited when the day finally comes 🙂 Especially with things as amazing as these PASTRY SWIRLS o. mg. Cranberry + brie is one of my favorite combos and with cinnamon sugar and puff pastry, it sounds to-die-for. SO AMAZING. Thanks for sharing all that you do with us, Tieghan and for being the sunny personality that you are! You and your mom will conquer this barn before you know it!
OK, this is such a compliment coming from you. I adore your writing style (UM and photos. OMG!!), so THANK YOU! You honestly just made my day! 🙂 Thank you for being so kind and sweet!! You need to get to CO for a visit soon! 🙂
I totally get it. Our house has been under construction for a year now. Walls are half removed and floors are torn up. It’s livable but it’s not cozy anymore with all of the construction everywhere.
UGH. That must be so hard. Hang in there!
These look so pretty and sound so simple! Can’t wait to try making some 🙂 I can only imagine the stress that comes with remodeling. It drives me bonkers when people don’t meet the deadlines or time estimates they themselves gave. Hang in there!
Thank you so much! 🙂
do you think this would work with a cream cheese filling like a danish with the cinnamon sugar. i cant decide if that would be too much?
I think that would be great! I actually almost used half brie, half cream cheese. Sounds delish!
You had me at brie, everything else is just a bonus 🙂 Can’t wait to see the final product of the barn! Good luck to you for the rest of it!
Thanks so much, Jennifer!
These are so gorgeous and just perfect for holiday parties! I hear ya on the barn – nothing is more frustrating than wanting something to be done, but it will be. Hang in there a little longer!
Thanks so much, Laura! LOVED the ice cream today. Looks amazing!
OK I’m making this with nuts instead of cranberries.
You are amazing!!
You have so much going on for someone your age.
If you miss a few recipes because of a broken stove, work on the barn, or company we will still be checking in because you are so talented.
So have some hot chocolate and enjoy a Christmas movie.
I almost added nuts!! I bet that will be awesome!!
Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words, Nancy!! I always love to read your comments! 🙂
Renovations are always nightmares 🙁 My mom has been trying to get her upstairs shower tiled for over a YEAR now! Just 1 shower!
Don’t feel pressured to provide us with pictures/updates. Of course we want to hear about it because it’s super exciting, and I know that I, personally, am living vicariously through you, lol, but we all know things don’t always go smoothly or perfectly. We’ve all totally been there, girl!
By the way, these swirls look FAB!
Such nightmares!! 🙁
Thank you so much for the kind and encouraging words, Rachael! Hope you are having a great week and happy Friday!
a delicious way to eat cranberries!
Thank you!
These look amazing! If I’m going to make these ahead of time, at what step should I stop? Should I add the butter and cinnamon sugar right before baking, or can I go up to the point where I slice the roll before putting in the fridge?
Stop just before baking. So you can add the butte + sugar and you can slice the roll, Then store in the fridge and bake when ready. Hope you love these and let me know if you have anymore questions.
Sorry about the struggles with your barn!! I hope it comes together soon. Our family has done a lot of renovations and it can be very stressful but it always works out.
These look amaaazing. My boyfriend and I have been buying brie every week (sometimes more than once a week) and I love seeing new ways to use it!
Thank you so much!
These look amazing and are going on my to do list for sure! I like the dental floss cutting tip 🙂
Thanks!
Try not to be discouraged, Tieghan! It’s a big project, and I don’t know anyone who has ever built or renovated anything without having problems, really! It will be so amazing – once it’s complete- and will be totally worth it! We’ll wait patiently for pictures 🙂 These look like gooey little pieces of perfect! Can’t wait to make them!
These look absolutely amazing!! These look so good I might have to change a few of my holiday breakfast traditions and have these instead!! The pictures are beautiful!!
Thanks so much, Chelsea! Hopping you had a great weekend!
OMG This looks absolutely amazing. Will most certainly have to try!
Thanks Karen!
These look beautiful and delicious! The dusting cinnamon picture is awesome!
Thank you so much!
These were so delicious, thank you for the recipe!
I’m curious…is this an appetizer or dessert?
It can be whatever you want it to be, but I like this as an appetizer!
I just saw this recipe, nearly a year after. The barn is ready and I have to say again so very beautiful Tieghan. I guess all your trials and tribulations make living there just that much sweeter, right? And this recipe is so easy and looks sooo delicious… <3
Thank you so much! Hope you love these! 🙂
Just came across this recipe through BuzzFeed.. Looks delish! Do you think subbing the cranberries for raspberry preserves would be ok? Would it still be ok with the cinnamon sugar? Can’t wait to try this out 🙂
Hope all is well with the barn!!!
Hey Christina! Yes, that will be fine. I think it will be delicious actually. Just don’t use too much as it will make everything runny. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!!
Hello! I’m so glad I came across your recipe on Buzzfeed. I’m in the middle of making these right now. I’m the idiot who has a question!!! LOL!! Should I remove the rind before I spread the Brie? I never know what to do when cheese has a rind, eat it, cut it off, cut around it!!!!!! Thanks for your help!
J
HI!! I just leave the brie rind in tact since I don’t mind eating it. It’s easier this way too, but you can remove it if you’d prefer! Hope you love this! Happy Thanksgiving!
Tieghan, Thank you so much for answering so quickly!!! Can’t wait to eat them!! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
Jeanine
Of course! Have a great Thanksgiving too! 🙂
HANG IN THERE.
These were yummy and very easy. I think I was too sparing with the cinnamon sugar – next time I’ll use more. If you let the puff pastry thaw for 40 mins as the package says, it will easily roll up without cracking or breaking.
These tasted amazing. But my pinwheels opened while baking and looked more like an S. How can I get them to stay in the pinwheel shape? I pinched the seam very tight too.
Hey Jeanine, mine open up a bit too during baking, so I am afraid it is kind of hard to avoid. I just recommend rolling them up as tight as possible. Glad you love these! Thank you and Merry Christmas!
This website is my intake, real excellent design and
style and Perfect subject matter.
Thank you!
Hello! I am thinking about making these for a holiday pot luck for work. Do you think they’d taste OK if I baked in the morning an then took to work to eat later in the day (about 5 hours later)? Or, any other easy appetizer recipe you’d recommend of yours that would good for this kinda thing? Thanks!
HI! I think they’d be fine if you warmed then a bit. The brie will be cold after 5 hours, but if reheat that should be good. Please let me know if you have other questions. Hope you love this recipe! Thanks! 🙂
Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, I have no way to re-heat at work. Any other appetizers you’d recommend that I could make the night before and just bring in as-is?
What about chex mix?
https://dev.halfbakedharvest.com/moms-secret-christmas-eve-chex-mix/
Looks yummy. My daughter is allergic to dairy, what do you suggest to replace the Brie?
HI! Honestly, I would just omit the brie completely and not replace it with anything. The rolls will be great minus the cheese I am sure. Please let me know if you have other questions. Hope you love this recipe! Happy Holiday’s ? 🙂
Ugh! I failed “idiot-proof.” These babies did not puff and I there was no way I was able to get 16-18 pieces. In my defense, the puff pastry I used had been in my freezer for quite some time, but nothing was mentioned about rolling it out. So my old dough was more square than having a Longer side. I tried cutting the roll but was able to get thin slices and I tried using dental floss without much luck either. My resulting products were flat, greasy and unappealing. Am I just an idiot or do you think the dough I used was just too old? Any advice would be appreciated – nothing can make me feel worse about the outcome than I already do. Please help this idiot!
HI!! What brand pastry did you use? that is the only thing I can think would have cause you to get less rolls. My guess is that the pastry did not puff becasue it was too old. Next time, try using a fresh dough (I like Pepperidge Farms dough best). I think that should really help! Please let me know if you have other questions. Hope this has helped! Happy Holiday’s ? 🙂
Q: do you cut up the Brie, rind and all??
HI! yes, I cut the brie with the rind on, but please remove it if you don’t like the rinds texture. Please let me know if you have other questions. Hope you love this recipe! Happy Holiday’s ? 🙂
Made these for Christmas morning- they were a hit with the everyone including the kids!! Be sure to serve warm out of the oven or reheat if they have cooled. They are best when brie is melty.
Thank you Nicole! I am so happy everyone enjoyed these and I hope you had a wonderful holiday!
I just made these for ladies nite out. omg they look smell and taste wonderful
Thank you for the recipe
I am so happy they turned out amazing for you Jonelle! Enjoy ?
Would fresh cranberries work just as well?
Hey Devon, Fresh cranberries will be a little bulky to roll up in the pastry, so I am not sure they will work too well. It might be fine, but since I have not tested it, I would recommend sticking with dried cranberries. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I hope you love this recipe. Thanks so much and happy Thanksgiving! xTieghan
Great recipe, but if I do it again I’ll put the sugar in the roll after spreading the brie. It just kept picking up off the pastry because of it. Other than that, so easy! Thanks!
Thank you so much!
These are great !!!!! Use the floss ?
Thank you Gina!
Hi..in the middle of making these and having trouble…are there different sizes of pastry..mine is square. Seems like too much cheese & berries to roll up good. Think they will end up unrolling but as long ad they taste delicious i wont care…Mine either look good OR taste good… not both.
Theres nothing wrong with that, but I am sure these look amazing! Thank you so much Marcia! xTieghan
We love this recipe!! This is one of our Thanksgiving classics! I started serving this when it was first posted it because it was so easy and everybody loved them, so now it is an every year. What is so cool is that my kid is old enough now to make these herself!! So, anybody who is hesitant- definitely make them! They are fine to make the night before Thanksgiving and a really fun recipe to make with family at the best time of year 🙂
Awh that is so amazing! I am so glad you have been loving this recipe and its become tradition! Thank you Elle! xTieghan
Hello Tieghan,
I like cranberries but not sure my little granddaughters will. Do you think the cranberries can be switched out for mini chocolate chips?
Our Christmas Eve is set up of all kinds of hors d’oeuvres so I don’t have to cook a big meal. Our big meal is Christmas Day. I think both would be a nice addition to the table.
Thank you!
Happy Holidays,
Diana
Hi Diana, I am sure chocolate chips will be delicious. I have never done Brie and chocolate before, but know others love it. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I hope you love this recipe! Thank you! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!! xTieghan
Hi Tieghan,
I want to tell you how much our family adores your recipes! I have ordered copies of your new book for everyone on our Christmas list. Keep up the good work.
Nancy
That is so amazing! I am so glad you enjoy my recipes and I hope everyone loves the book!! Thank you! xTieghan
Do you think you could substitute a roll of crescent rolls if you already have them in your fridge and need to use them up?
Hey Andrea! I am sure crescents will be great. Fun idea!! Please let me know if you have any other questions. I hope you love this recipe! Thank you! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!! xTieghan
how do these taste cold? They sound delicious
Sue, these are best warm, but I am sure great at room temp as well. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I hope you love this recipe! Thank you! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!! xTieghan
Love this combo. Easy and tasty. For me, the one with goat cheese/ dates…was just a no go, although it looked as if it would be good for many. This is great for the rest of.
Thank you so much Joyce! I am so glad this turned out so well for you! xTieghan
All my favourite things in one place – cinnamon sugar, Brie and cranberries. Yum! This has made it onto my menu for my open house. Printed and pinned!
Amazing! I hope all of your guests love it! Thank you Joanna! xTieghan
This is such a unique, interesting recipe! I cannot wait to try these!
Thank you so much Erin! xTieghan
Are these craisins that you use, so already sweetened, or is there another type that is a bit tart?
Oh boy! I’m so distracted. I misread the word “dried” cranberries and bought fresh, so everything is ready to go and I only have fresh cranberries. What do you suggest I should go! Thank you so much!
HI! I would use the fresh! I am sure this will still be great, but use additional sugar to sweet the cranberries. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I hope you love this recipe! Thank you! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!! xTieghan
Made these last night for the first time and they are DELICIOUS! I used a little less brie because I only had roughly 5 oz of cheese & used significantly less craisins & about half the recommended amount of cinnamon sugar (I eyeballed it) but for me it was all the perfect amount. They turned out not as pretty as the picture due to mediocre wrapping & cutting technique – be sure to wrap them up snugly, and maybe try using flavorless floss to cut them instead of a knife so they don’t end up oblong. I’m sure they’d be just as delicious with more of the fillings, but they’re very forgiving of less. Overall, a really low-maintenance recipe & lovely pairing of flavors!
I am so glad you loved this recipe Allie!! Thank you so much for trying it! xTieghan
Hi, do you mean unsweetened dried cranberries?
Hi! Yes unsweetened! I hope you love this! xTieghan
Hi Mary! You can either or, whatever your prefer! Just adjust the sugar amount depending on what you buy. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I hope you love this recipe! Thank you! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!! xTieghan
Sorry I made these for thanksgiving and actually turned out like turkey turds haha my family thought it was funny though
Hi Jess! Haha really sorry these did not work.. Are there any questions I could help you with? xTieghan
These were so simple to make and so good! Glad I made double because a few didn’t make it to the serving platter! Made a Cranberry Mustard sipping sauce (leftover homemade cranberry jam and Dijon). So yummy!!!
Yes! I am so glad you loved this so much Hadley! xTieghan
These were a HUGE hit tonight at Thanksgiving! Definitely will become a new Holiday staple for us. So easy, and the flavor pairings were perfect. Thanks again for another winner!
Thank you Robin! I am so glad this turned out so well for you! xTieghan
These did NOT turn out! Parchment paper?! I think not. Cheese melted right into paper, still doughy after 25 min. Tried to make these for work, so disappointed ☹️
Hi Colleen! I am really sorry these did not work for you. Are there any questions I could help you with? Let me know! XxTieghan
This was a great twist on baked brie! I subbed out dried cranberries for apple butter and orange marmalade and it delicious. It was messier because of added liquid but still stayed together well. Much easier as an appetizer than traditional baked brie.
Hi Ruth! I am really glad this turned out so well! Thank you for trying it! xTieghan
These were a huge hit at our Thanksgiving celebration. Will be making them again for Christmas!
Thank you Jen! I am so glad you enjoyed these! xTieghan
I made these as an appetizer for Thanksgiving dinner with my family…even my picky kids loved them! I will definitely be making them again!
Thank you so much Kristi! I am so glad this recipe turned out so well for all of you! xTieghan
hello 🙂 It’s very difficult to get my hands on dried cranberries, do you think this would work with fresh too? Thanks for your help!!
Hi! Yes, this works really well with fresh cranberries. I would use an extra tablespoon of cinnamon sugar to balance the tartness from the fresh cranberries. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I hope you love this recipe! Thank you and happy holidays! xTieghan
Could you use orange flavored cranberries from Trader Joes?
Hi Jule! I am sure those will be great! Please let me know if you have any other questions. I hope you love this recipe! Thank you and happy holidays! xTieghan
These are good and I will probably make them again – my only concern was that they came out very greasy – perhaps 3 Tablespoons of melted butter is too much, since the pastry already has plenty of butter. I might try it with a little less brie, although it is delicious it is also heavy.
Thank you Mark! I am really glad you enjoyed these and hope you love them more with less butter! Thank you! xTieghan
Super delicious. Super easy. Only complaint…one batch is NOT enough. :o) Lesson learned.
Haha yes! Thank you so much Karen! xTieghan
Easy and delicious. These were a big hit at Christmas dinner!
Love that! Thank you so much Nancy! Merry Christmas! xTieghan
Sooo easy to make!! Would love a savory version?
Thank you Emily! xTieghan
Excellent! Easy and tasty! Only difficulty—cutting the rind off the Brie. No problem though. Just cheesy fingers! I highly recommend this. Try it, you’ll like it!
Thank you so much Debra! xTieghan
I made the cranberry brie tarts. After baking per instructions we had a greasy, inedible mess. The bottom of the tarts look raw & most of the puff pastry did not puff. Any idea what cause this?
Hi Deborah, I am so sorry you had trouble with this recipe. It sounds like you had too much Brie on the tart dough. Next time try using 4 ounces of brie. I think that will help with the messiness. You may also need to bake the tart longer to ensure they are crisp on the bottom. All ovens are different so it could be that your oven is not as hot as mine. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I hope this help you! Thank you! xTieghan
Can I use currants instead of cranberries?
HI! I am sure that will be great. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I hope you love this recipe! Thank you! xTieghan
A great change up is heat the dried cranberries with Grand Marnier in the microwave for 15-30 seconds (just warming). Let them plump while preparing the pastry, I find using a liqueur to hydrate them a little, increases moist sweeter version and reduces the additional dry chew of the berries
Thank you so much Ann!! xTieghan
These look so good! Could they be prepped and frozen? If so, at what point in the process would you freeze them? Thanks so much, I love all of your recipes!
Hey Catherine,
Yes, totally fine to do, you will want to make through step 3 and then freeze. I hope you love the recipe, please let me know if you have any other questions! xTieghan
Yum! Can you use fresh cranberries? Or dried only?
Hey Annie,
I would stick with dried cranberries with this recipe, I think fresh would be a little bulky to roll up! I hope you love the recipe, please let me know if you have any other questions! xTieghan
Hi Tieghan- fantastic job on all of your recipes & photography!
Wondering if this recipe would be good with fresh cranberries…or if that would make swirls too tart.🤔
Thank you!
Mary Jo
Hey Mary Jo,
For this recipe I would stick with dried cranberries. I hope you love the recipe, please let me know if you have any other questions! xTieghan
If you aren’t a cranberry fan could you use fresh raspberries? Or does it have to be dried fruit?
Hey Sara,
That would work! I hope you love the recipe, please let me know if you have any other questions! xTieghan
For prepping ahead of time, can you also freeze them for traveling?
Hey Alex,
That would be totally fine to do! I hope you love the recipe, please let me know if you have any other questions! xTieghan
I was about to make these delicious things but I bought regular cranberries. Would it work with just sweetening the cranberries? Any advice? Recent big fan, loving all your inspiration and recipes.
Hey Candy,
I haven’t tried this recipe with fresh cranberries. My worry is they would be too difficult to roll up. I hope you love the recipe, please let me know if you have any other questions. Happy Thanksgiving! xTieghan
How would these turn out if you used the cranberry jam concoction from your hand-pie recipe instead of dried cranberries?
Hey Natasha,
That should work well! I hope you love the recipe, please let me know if you have any other questions. Happy Thanksgiving! xTieghan
So easy and delicious! I am not an expert at cooking and most recipes intimidate me, but this was a simple and delicious hit that helped me build my confidence!
Thank you Jess! I am really glad this recipe turned out so well for you! xTieghan
So easy, yet so impressive!
Thank you so much Tacie! xTieghan
Hey Tieghan!! Can I use filo pastry instead of puff pastry? Are there any adjustments needed to be done to the recipe if I use filo?
Hey Janelle,
I have not tested this recipe with phyllo, but I would follow the recipe as is, the only thing I worry about is that it could be too delicate. I hope you love the recipe, please let me know if you have any other questions. Happy Holidays! xTieghan
These were the hit of our Thanksgiving appetizers (and next day’s breakfast). I swapped in prosciutto for the cinnamon sugar to make them more savory. Freezing the roll for 5 minutes before slicing made it neater and easier. I bet a few batches could be frozen before baking to have on hand all holiday season!
Thank you so much Barb! I am really glad this turned out so well for you! xTieghan
Made this for Tgiving dinner! Everyone including myself loved the recipe. Cinnamon sugar really was the secret star ingredient. I should have taken your advice on doubling it but now I know for next time!
Might I suggest making the roll and leaving it in the fridge overnight, (or a few extra hours) to make the slicing process smooth and making the final result a little less messy! Worked like a charm, Thanks for this!
Thank you so much AJ! I am really glad this recipe turned out so amazing for you! xTieghan
These were so delicious and super easy! I will definitely make several times throughout the holiday season.
Thank you Pam! xTieghan
Simple and delicious! These were definitely a hit!
Thank you Alison! xTieghan
delicious but printing the recipe on the computer starts printing from your archives of comments that started on November 2014 and possibly before that date but I had to hang up the printer as there was no way to stop it. I used 1/2 package of printing paper. Isn’t there anyway to stop at the end of the instructions instead of at the end of all the comments.
Hey Mary,
So sorry about this, before printing I would recommend to always double check which specific pages you want to print. xTieghan
Not bad. Nothing too special about it. They were quite hard to cut because it all just flattened out, it definitely wasn’t a circle after I had cut it. Not sure if I would make it again.
Hi Felishia,
Is there something I can help you with? My family really enjoys this recipe…It really helps if the puff pastry is super cold when cutting! Please let me know how I can help! xTieghan
I made these for thanksgiving and they went like hot cakes! I barely grabbed one for myself 😊 going to repeat for Christmas! Delicious and easy recipe, thank you!
Hey Kim,
I am so glad you enjoyed the recipe, thanks so much for giving it a try! Happy Holidays! xTieghan
