I’m not sure if I could be more excited about a recipe. This cheese board has Tieghan written all over it. It’s no secret that I love cheese. It’s also no secret that I’m a major fan of Chex Party Mix, especially around Thanksgiving and Christmas time.
Both cheese and Chex Party Mix are a must at all of our holiday gatherings from Thanksgiving to Christmas. So combining the two was something I should I have thought to do years ago.
Everyone, say hello to the Chex Party Mix cheese board. It’s everything and anything you’d ever want out of a holiday appetizer.
Truly a new favorite recipe. I am SO excited to share it with you all today…and just in time for Thanksgiving!

Hard to believe, but this is my seventh Thanksgiving here on HBH. Over those years, in the days leading up to Thanksgiving, I’ve always tried to share some easier recipes. Recipes that are perfect for throwing together in a moment’s notice.
Enter this cheese board, complete with everything you love in a good cheese board, but minus the boring crackers…and plus this delicious homemade Chex Party Mix.
Yes, yes, yes, cheese and Chex Party Mix. One of the best combos around, which makes for the ultimate holiday snack board.

Start out by making a batch of homemade Chex Party Mix. I switched things up a bit and created a cranberry and thyme Chex Party Mix that pairs perfectly with cheese. It’s a mix of salty, savory flavors, but with a touch of sweetness from the cranberries.
It’s delicious and addicting. Highly recommend doubling the recipe if you’re serving more than ten or so people. This Chex Party Mix goes fast!
For the cheese board, I kept things pretty simple and picked up some of my favorite cheeses from the store. A good brie, Merlot, sharp gouda, nutty aged parmesan, and buttery havarti. You can use any mix of cheeses you love most, but I aways recommend a good Brie on any holiday cheese board. Because everyone loves brie! Just be sure to get cheese blocks in different shapes and sizes for a nice variety.
I also added my favorite seasonal fruits: pomegranates, persimmons, pears, and citrus. Add some fig preserves and honeycomb, then finish the board off with salty olives.

What I love about cheese boards is that you can really use a mix of personal favorite cheeses and spreads.
The most important detail about this board is the Chex Party Mix. It’s an absolute must, and sets this board apart from all other holiday cheese boards. This board will be one that everyone will be taking pictures of for Instagram, and talking about for days on end.
It’s also addictingly delicious, so festive, super fun, and pretty simple to throw together. Trust me, make this for your Thanksgiving appetizer this year. No one will be disappointed.

If I were to do this Chex Mix in the crock pot (like your other crock pot Chex Mix recipe), would I just add the cranberries and thyme at the end? Or could they go in the crock pot too?
I Would add the thyme to the crockpot, but leave out the cranberries until the end! Please let me know if you have any other questions. I hope you love this recipe. Thanks so much!! xTieghan
Gorgeous! I’ll do a version of this for my Thanksgiving party, which is actually on Saturday. I’m living in Scandinavia, so this isn’t a day off for me. 🙁 But I’m teaching these Viking folks how it’s done in America. 😉 Many of the table offerings are inspired by HBH, some are my own, and the guests have never tried (or even heard of) many of these dishes. 😀 (Should be fun.)
Happy Thanksgiving, Tieghan!!
I hope your guests love this Aline and every other dish you make! Please let me know how everything turns out for you! Happy Thanksgiving to you as well, I hope it was amazing!
