Addicting Baked Seasoned Ritz Crackers.
Say hello to the most completely addicting snack…Addicting Baked Seasoned Ritz Crackers.

It’s just two days until Christmas Eve and these Ritz crackers are about to change your world.
Okay. Fine. That might be a little dramatic, but I think you get my point. These crackers, while they are very simple, are also very, very, very, good.
I hesitated to post this recipe, because, well, really all I’m doing is telling you how to butter and season Ritz crackers. This recipe is basically just all seasoned up Ritz crackers. At first I was a little embarrassed to share it, but you guys, these crackers are just the best, and too good not share. My family actually insisted!
Addicting…as the recipe title states, plus they practically scream HOLIDAY SNACKING.
Think Chex Mix…with all of those delicious flavors and seasonings, but on a buttery Ritz cracker. Yes, Yes, YES. Trust me when I say these are addicting. Once you start, there really is no turning back. Fair warning, you will keep eating these until they are gone. I seriously advise you not to be alone with these crackers!

Just like everyone else who’s entertaining this holiday season, I too am on the hunt for recipes that are simple yet delicious. In my family, nothing can be too simple. Whenever I’m feeding the whole crew, I always go along with the saying, the simpler the better. My family likes their classic flavors and nothing fancy.
Enter these Ritz, which are basically the most un-fancy appetizer/snack ever.
Here’s the quick summery. Ritz crackers, with a generous amount of butter and seasonings, baked in the oven. You see? SIMPLE! There’s maybe ten minutes of prep time and the rest is all done in the oven. Serve these warm or at room temperature, either way they’ll be gone in no time.
I had these crackers sitting on my counter the other day and when the boys strolled on into my house in their usual five O’clock time slot. They ate the entire pan…while drinking tomorrow’s drink for my Christmas Drink Saturday post (it might be my favorite drink of the season, so don’t miss it). Probably due to the cracker’s saltiness, the boys literally could not stop eating them. Within ten minutes, they were all gone. Granted there was four of them, but still that was fast.
These are crunchy, extra buttery, salty, seasoned with plenty of spices, and finished with just a touch of sea salt (if salty is your thing). Again, think Chex Mix, but on a Ritz cracker, which I personally think is beyond amazing…
But then I really have a thing for Ritz Crackers (check out the Mac and Cheese recipe in my cookbook).

I’m excited to make these Ritz crackers again tomorrow, when the rest of my family arrives into town. Aka two of my brothers…that are not currently here, Creighton and Brendan, my cousins, and everyone’s boyfriends/girlfriends…there’s just too many names to type out. Once the whole family is here, all we need is a good dusting of snow to complete the full on “Gerard Family Christmas scene”.
Fingers crossed it comes on Christmas Eve!
Also, when I say “Gerard Family Christmas scene”, you should really just picture the Griswold’s. Honestly though…we’re probably worse. YIKES.
Still love each and every one of them though!
Curious, what are your family Christmases like? Are they loud, crazy, and chaotic like ours, or a bit more relaxed? Would love to know what traditions you guys have!
In the meantime, I’ll be creating a new tradition, serving these up tomorrow for everyone’s arrival…along with this Slow Cooker Ramen, these Milk Chocolate and Peanut Butter Blondies, and some White Christmas Mojitos!

Addicting Baked Seasoned Ritz Crackers
By halfbakedharvest
Course: Snack
Cuisine: American
Keyword: homemade crackers
Crunchy, extra buttery, salty, seasoned with plenty of spices, and finished with just a touch of sea salt, think Chex Mix, but on a Ritz cracker!
Ingredients
- 3 sleeves Ritz crackers
- 1 stick (8 tablespoons) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons pepper
- 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4-1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Instructions
-
1. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. In a large bowl combine all the ingredients. Toss, gently, making sure the Ritz get evenly coated in the butter and seasonings.
2. Spread the Ritz out in an even layer on the 2 baking sheets. Bake for 15-25 minutes turning them halfway through cooking. You want the Ritz to be golden brown. Allow the Ritz to sit on the baking sheet until cooled and dry, about 20 minutes. Store the Ritz in an air tight container for up to 2 weeks.

Looks amazing. I wonder if I could be lazy and use Trader Joe’s “Everthing but the Bagel Seasoning” with the butter and Worcestershire sauce to cut down on a trip tot eh store. Happy holidays.
I was thinking the same thing!
That sounds amazing!! Please let me know if you have other questions. Hope you love this recipe! Happy Holiday’s ? 🙂
These look wonderful. You mentioned they are finished with a tough of sea salt. Do you sprinkle the sea salt on the crackers while they’re still warm? Also it looks like you have a small dish of something to dip them in or spread on them? These will definitely be on my menu for Christmas Eve appetizers. Love your recipes!
Thank you so much Lynne! I am so glad you like this and hope it turns out amazing on Christmas!
These sound really good. Definitely going to have to make these for an appetizer/snack for Christmas! Have a Merry Christmas Tieghan!
Great! I hope you love these Joshua! Thanks!
Yum! These look so good!
Thank you Kari!
Merry Christmas to you and yours, Tieghan!
I’m anxious to try these crackers! I love Chex mix but dislike buying numerous boxes of cereal. I do however, have the jumbo, super sized, mega box of Ritz crackers!
How many sleeves/tubes of crackers would I use for your scrumptious snacks?
HI! I’d use 5 sleeves! Please let me know if you have other questions. Hope you love this recipe! Happy Holiday’s ? 🙂
Hey Tieghan,
I like these ritz crackers and think they’re a nice and simple holiday snack! My mom was just snacking on pretizles before I made dinner, so these ritz seem to be a nice addition to the cracker scene ?. Also, I made everyone your pomegranate enchiladas tonight and they absolutely loved them! ☺️❤️
For Christmas, we usually don’t have many people over (my mom has a really small family and my step dad’s family lives up north), but it’s usually a bit stressful with family tension. Haha but hopefully this year will stay positive (I might just bake and keep to myself). I hope your family and visitors are having a nice time! And you’re still taking care of yourself, too. Sleep well and stay warm. 🙂
They are so easy and nice for the holidays! I am so happy everyone loved the pomegranate enchiladas! That is amazing! I hope you’re having a great time with family Kristin!
Made these tonight while making several of your other recipes to give in a cookie box for my neighbors. Ended up eating probably half of them while I was baking. SO GOOD! I usually hate anything with worcestershire, but these are amazing. Thanks Tieghan!
I am so glad you loved these! Thank you Anastasia!
I was putting together my Christmas snack list, needed a delivery mechanism for some bacon cheddar dip and then this recipe showed up. I don’t like Ritz crackers on their own but they are perfect for this and I am wondering why I’ve never seen or heard of flavoring crackers akin to Chex Mix. This is a very easy recipe with a strong ROI on time and effort. Definitely perfect for a party or football snacking.
I hope you love these Rachel! Let me know how they turn out with your dip! Thank you + Happy Holidays!
These were a big hit. I paired them with Brown Eyed Baker’s Neiman Marcus-inspired Dip. One enhanced the other to make a very complete snack package.
Sounds delicious! Thank you Rachel!
These look delicious and we need lots of salty tasty snacks to make up for all the sweets that come with Christmas! I am going to make these for a NYE party. I bought your cookbook two weeks ago as a Christmas present for myself and it is absolutely gorgeous. I cannot wait to make some amazing meals, and the photography is beautiful! I could use it as a coffee table book, I swear. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Bangkok, Thailand!!
These would be an awesome appetizer for a NYE party! I hope you love them! Oh, and so happy you got the book, I can’t wait to see what you make from it! Thank you and Happy New Year!
I have a feeling these would be delicious with pimento cheese
I am sure they would! Let me know, thanks Mary!
These were fantastic! Made them to go with a mayo cream cheese dip this past weekend and everyone loved them! The cayenne pepper gave it a quick kick at the end which I loved. And so so easy to make. Thanks!
Thank you so much Eliza!!
I made these the first time following the recipe exactly and they were a huge hit on my appetizer tray,
I now am baking a second batch, subbing the onion powder, cayenne pepper and sesame seeds with an equal amount of Japanese 7 Spice (Shichimi Togarashi), which is sorta like TJ’s bagel seasoning, Worked out great!
This recipe is a keeper!
I am so glad you enjoyed these Sophie! Thank you!
Allergic to cayenne pepper….do you think they would be too blah without? Any other substitute suggestions if so?
I made 4 batches tonight and this was just awful. The first batch was burned. I reduced the time. The second batch burned. I reduced the time and the temperature. The third batch wasn’t good. The fourth batch cooked just ten minutes at 250 degrees. It’s the only one edible. Are you quite certain you have everything listed right? I’m so disappointed.
Hey Lisa, I am so sorry you have had so much trouble. I am sure I have everything listed correctly. Is it possible your oven runs on the hot side? That is the only thing I can think might be happening. again so sorry for the trouble. Hope I can help!
Tieghan, I finally tried this recipe with my mom yesterday to take to a Christmas party later with my brother and friends. This recipe is pretty rough… Not gonna lie. Mixing all the ingredients at once broke all the crackers apart and only left the small broken pieces coated and the larger chunks with hardly at all. I was also out of the sauce/seasoning mixture after two rolls of crackers. We did the next batch by dipping them in the butter and sprinkling the seasoning on. Thinking this would work we followed your instructions to bake at 300 for 25 minutes. At just 15 minutes, they were burnt to a crisp. So disappointed in this recipe. Really sad and confused as to why you would give these instructions. My family graciously ate them anyway and said they still tasted good.
Hey Katie, I am so sorry you had so much trouble with the recipe. Most who have tried these have really enjoyed them ad found them very easy to make. Is there something you had the most trouble with? Is it possible your oven runs on the hot side?
Hi There…are these doable with a box of mini club crackers, a 16 oz bag of pretzels and several cups of dry roasted almonds???
We are snack mix junkies so I like to make piles at a time.
Hmm, honestly not sure. I would think it would be fine. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I hope you love this recipe. Thanks so much!! xTieghan
I was excited to make these but I only did one sleeve and adjusted ingredients accordingly. They just lacked a lot of flavor..I only had low sodium Ritz, Worcester sauce and Mrs, dash sasoning mix as to replace seasoned salt. I did add pink Himalayan salt which helped. I only baked for 12 minutes and they were perfectly crunchy. It’s like they needed dipped in something. Is there something you would suggest? Thank you!!
Hi Yvonne, what ingredients did you omit from the recipe? I am not familiar with the seasoning you used. I would recommend using regular ritz and the seasonings listed for best results. For a dip, these are delicious with a creamy ranch! Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you! xTieghan
The recipe says to turn them does that mean flip each cracker over or rotate the entire tray?
Hey Pam! I like to flip each cracker over half way throughout baking. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I hope you love this recipe! Thank you! xTieghan
What kind of seasoned salt did you use?
Hi! I use Lawry’s seasoned salt. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I hope you love this recipe! Thank you and happy holidays! xTieghan
What do you recommend using as a dip for these ?? Going to try for christmas eve…THANKS!
HI! I would do something like sour cream and onion or a cheesy spinach dip. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I hope you love this recipe! Thank you and I hope you had Merry Christmas! Sorry my response is a bit late! xTieghan
I made this first with Trader Joe’s everything but the bagel seasoning, everyone thought it was way too salty. Then I made it per your ingredients and it was fantastic! So much better and really was a reduction in the salt issue. Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe!
Thank you so much Penny! I am so glad these turned out so well for you! xTieghan
This recipe sucked too much salt thanks for making me waste a stick of butter
Hi Karen.. I am sorry this recipe did not work for you. Is there anything that could have gone wrong while making it? xTieghan
i had them in the oven for maybe five minutes before they burnt.
Hi Ally! I am sorry to hear that! Is there anything that went wrong while making? xTieghan
Disappointed!!!! I was hoping you would give the recipe from scratch but you just used the ritz itself!!!
Hi! Yes, I just use ritz in this recipe! Sorry about that. xTieghan
Used with Mt House Pilot Crackers. They are so bland, I added caraway seeds also. No other changes. Worked out well.
Thank you so much Kathi!! xTieghan
I bought the ingredients then read the reviews. All the negative reviews must have done something wrong. These turned out great. I flipped after 7 minutes and baked another 7. They turn out quite dark from all the seasoning but definitely not burnt. My only note is that the seasoning sinks in the butter so make sure to stir before putting the crackers in. Also, let some excess drip off before you add to the pan. That could be why the other reviews had burning. Thanks HBH for this fun addition to my charcuterie board!
Hi Katherine! I am really glad these turned out so well for you!! Thank you for trying them! xTieghan
Can I make these on a smokeless grill and what changes would I have make?
Hey Pauld,
I have never tried grilling these so I can’t say for sure if they would work or not. I hope you love the recipe, please let me know if you have any other questions! xTieghan
Please specify number of ritz crackers, not number of sleeves. They keep changing the size of the sleeve. I’m referring to the baked seasoned ritz crackers.
Thanks, Meg
Hey Meg,
So sorry, unsure of the exact count, just use as many as you can:) I hope you love the recipe, please let me know if you have any other questions! xTieghan
I just made these today for a birthday party.. They came out amazing.. I don’t know why the other reviewers had such difficulty…
Hey Lila,
Thanks so much for giving the recipe a try, I am thrilled that it worked out for you! Happy Holidays! xTieghan
I just tried this recipe. IT IS AMAZING!!!! Thank you for sharing your recipe! I can’t stop eating these crackers now. They don’t need dip or anything else with them. So GOOD!!!
Hey Kathleen,
Thanks so much for making the recipe, I am so glad it was enjoyed! Have a great week! xTieghan
Just made these for a birthday party. Will go great with adult beverages and the cupcakes.
